* Help! I can't see the upgrade button? If you do not see the upgrade button, click somewhere else on the board and then click back on the item. The buttons should return. Force close if still not showing.
* Help! The Petroglyphs drops aren't going into my inventory! There is a counter on the top right of screen and all Petroglyphs drops go there. They do not go into inventory.

* To get the first individual prize, you need to collect 20 Petroglyphs.
* When you reach 20 Petroglyphs the next individual prize opens up for you and will show you how many Petroglyphs you will need for the next individual prize.
* Once you reach 63 Petroglyphs you are eligible for any and all of the prizes that are earned by the community (shown on the second row).
* The total number of Petroglyphs is updated on the counter as soon as they drop, not when they are collected.
* Be mindful that upgrading resets the timer back to 2 hours.

I can't get my chickens to drop quills any more. The 1st 2 chickens gave me one quill. Now I've collected from 15 and no more quills. Anyone have the same lousy drop rate on the quills? I find that quills drop every 6-7 chickens. What I'm finding difficult is the skunkupines. They used to spawn frequently from the bushes, but after tapping 9 bushes, nothing spawned. Dire boars keep showing up from the rocks and depletes my energy!

Help! I was fighting a skunkupine when Nadine returned from a delivery. The skunkupine was moved away from the corn & when I clicked on it, a timer showed 13 hrs to collect! I've never heard of this happening. Now I have a monster on the board to prevent me from spawn another. And I can't get what I need from skunkupine to craft rift compass. Anyone know how to fix or should a put in a support ticket? Thanks.

NEVER MIND - Actually tried the corn again & it spawned a skunkupine!

I like the look of the phoenix and I like the story line so far. The drop rates don't seem terrible and the necessary buildings are short timers except of course they the dreaded Ivy's Hut.

I really wish they would stop putting Ivy's hut in events, or maybe if they have to use it they could give more than 1 needed item per tap? It drives me crazy that I have everything I need to move forward but I still have to sit around twiddling my thumbs while I wait on Ivy. I do use the time to collect extra materials but I could do that just the same if I was waiting on a building that had a 4hr timer. At this point I'd be willing to spend a lot of gems to buy a second hut if only they would offer it.

Very confused. Trying to upgrade nest to level two. Need 4 time books from farm houses. That?s what it says from farmhouse. I have a monster parked. I have wasted 14 energy collecting from farm houses and have zero Books. can someone confirm if the farm houses are supposed to Spawn the Phoenix and then ****ing the phoenix gives the book?
Instructions on this one aren?t that great! If anyone can help please advise. Thank you!
This event requires a lot of energy and I don?t want to waste any energy because instructions are not clear.

Where the heck are the skunkupines? No matter where I search, all I find are other monsters.

riverly
12-29-17, 12:26 AM
We have to fight Phoenix to get the books and also Skunkupines to get another item. So I guess we can't park a beast unless you leave a Phoenix or Skunkupine up while chopping rocks or gathering from chickens.

You cannot park a beast. If you read the info on page 1, you will see that time records drop from defeating a Phoenix which are spawned from farmhouses.

Please, phoenix spawn only from farmhouses? What is "used for ponds"?

A break. I need a bit of a break. Its the holiday season after all. Lol. That said, I'm already doing the quest 😂 did anyone else notice that the Phoenix and Griffin nest looks exactly the same? I actually dug myne of my inventory and placed them next to each other lol. But of course there is no added benefit from doing that.

Happy Holidays to everyone playing and good luck on this quest. We'll be chopping a lot.

We have to fight Phoenix to get the books and also Skunkupines to get another item. So I guess we can't park a beast unless you leave a Phoenix or Skunkupine up while chopping rocks or gathering from chickens.

Thank you for information. Much appreciated.

Can we forge items in advance or should we wait for the goal ?

After I upgraded to level 2 all the extra items I made were checked off in the next goal. Assuming the trend continues for the rest of the event then yes we can craft items ahead and have them count towards the next goal.

Just chopped two rock outcroppings and got 1 dire boar and 1 skunkupine. I’ll let you know if I get any more skunkupines from rock outcroppings.

Yes the Rock outcroppings are a good source for skunks. Was the same last event where similar requirements.

I completed 2 of the Journey Through Time Adventures.

I received: 1 malachite, 1 quill, 1 pendulum and 1 solar ink from the first.

The second returned: 1 malachite, 1 quill, 1 chimaera chain, 1 solar ink, 1 future splinter.

I like that they've given us a pop up that lists our returns this time. Makes it much easier to see what I did and did not receive instead of having to go through my inventory. If the future splinter returns are halfway decent I'll gladly give up my gold nuggets so I don't have to rely completely on Ivy. It would've been nice to have this adventure in the Barracks also but I'll take what I can get.

When does the Journey Through Time Adventure become available, please? Mine is still locked.

I don’t think this info is on the first page yet, apologies if it is, as I’m not really awake yet!

After you upgrade to level 2, a side goal pops up "Traveling The Time Trails" with 3 tasks.

Clear a Rock Outcropping
Gather Glittering Soot
Journey Through Time

The standard 100 coins and 10xp are the rewards. It checked off the soot that I had gathered earlier but I did have to buy an outcropping to chop.

You have a skunk. Top left.
Make sure you have no monsters out before you hit farmhouses.

I find hitting rocks (which is needed to make the time shards drop) makes skunkupines spawn quite frequently.

Requirements to upgrade nest to level 2:

2 Rift Compass
2 Pen of Record
2 Aetas? Violin
4 Time Records

The game states that Time Records can be found in Farmhouse, however, I have several farmhouses but not one provides me with Time Records. Anyone else has this problem?

Time records: defeat phoenixes (they spawn from farmhouses, so don't park any beasts!)

I wish S8 would set the spawn rates for direboars and fang beasts to the monster hunt rates. (Because they never show up during hunts.) They sure seem to have done that with the skunkupines. :(
When chopping rocks I get 4-5 boars for every 1 skunkupine. And farmhouses give about 2 fangbeasts for every Phoenix. And I don’t even look at a chicken unless I have something parked. This is why I complain. I realize the object is to make us burn through energy faster (so that hopefully we will buy more.) But it is extremely annoying to see such high spawn rates during this event while knowing that they would be non-existent if this were a monster hunt.

Unbelievable! Future splinters are not a guaranteed drop from Ivy's hut? What!! I've been waiting for 24 hours already! C'mon S8 please don't do this. I hope the dismal drop rate is a glitch, not a norm. How else can we spend the holidays with our family if we're glued to this game waiting on chickens for quills instead of the turkey in our kitchen oven, chopping rocks instead of chopping onions for my stew! I was already appalled that after waiting hours, the sparkling mines don't drop what we need... but Ivy's too? That's too much of a letdown during this season of giving.

Please, S8. Give the dire boars a rest too. I bet they're tired to be on call all the time. Dire boars must be complaining that they have to show up when someone taps a rock. They don't want to be bothered as much as we don't want to be bothered by their appearance. So make everyone happy and let the dire boars go on holiday!

I collected from farmhouses about 30 times looking for Time Records, because that's where the game says they're from. It might have been helpful for them to say "from Phoenix" (which spawns from farmhouses) as I had a monster parked. Grrrr.
Additionally, I have to say, I'm not excited about S8 recycling the exact same event over and over. I already know the bottleneck will be at Ivy's - couldn't they at LEAST have moved it to Kaz's or Sabine's or ANYONE else's this time??? Then the grand prize - another laggy kingdom walker. Yaaaay. -_-
I really love this game, so I keep playing, but they're challenging my patience. It seems sometimes like they're TRYING to drive us away.

I soooo agree. I'm hoping since it's the Christmas/New Year season that this is just an easy-out to give the dev's a break. I'd like to see some originality in the next events, rather than the chop-chop-chop and gathering event-only items that will be of no use in 14 days. The phoenix would be a great addition. Hopefully it will make a return in future events.

Some energy assumptions:
Assumptions:
Time Shard: 3 (Mining a Rock Outcorpping)
Chimaera Chain: 8 (6 to spawn + 2 Defeating a Skunkupine)
Time Records: 12 (5 farmhouse + 7 Defeating a Phoenix)
Future Splinter: 1 (Collecting from Ivy's Hut)
Pendulum: 2 (Mining a Sparkling Mine)
Solar Ink: 5 (Tending Red Mushroom Circles)
Quill: 5 (Tending Chickens)
Malachite: 5 (Mining a Malachite Slab)

In order to get the books from the farmhouses, you can?t have any other monsters showing. When you click on the farmhouses a Phoenix will appear and you get the book for defeating the Phoenix. No matter what I do, I cannot get a skunkupine to appear, so I?m stuck on that part.

You will get a skunkupine at some point, plus it adds to your green shards.

If there is a different place to get that green glass, please let me know. It's an unbelievable amount of rock chopping! This time it just seems like we're not getting good return for chopping rocks.

Compared with some other events, this seems like it is not too taxing. Lots of chopping, but the shards seem to be accumulating pretty well. Ivy's hut and the mines will seem to be the places that will slow us down. Let's hope this takes us into the new year so that we all finish without frustration.

All of the information about the event - goals, tips and what the event is about is on page 1. I do this for every event to help players navigate and understand the event.

You can see a greyed out picture of Aetas on the Community Event page (the one with all the little pictures) - she is on the top row and the last individual prize. You need to collect lots of Petroglyphs by upgrading the Phoenix nest. I don't know the numbers required to get the individual prizes yet. Players will post this information as it is known or if not, then I post what I know when I get to it. Hope that helps.

It strikes me s8 have tried to please everyone with this: two characters, one static with great drops including a chance for gold, one a Walker, New deco items, and what should be an achievable goal. The tight item apart from energy (as ever) will be the drops from Ivy, but we need 22 from a possible 28 collections, so there should be time for everyone to miss one or two.

As for their staff, this is almost certainly a reworking of old code, to give them a break over Christmas, plus old code is already tested not to break anything else. Some of the goal process artwork is clearly reused with a colour filter - but the reward items are new designs, and the firebird art is worth the effort in itself.

It may not be the Christmas thing people wanted, but a time based event for new year has a certain logic. And yes, I think they have pinched ideas from a certain time Lord. ( We know they watch - we have a weeping angel!)

Yeah since we don't have the usual 40-200 collection to tame the phoenix, it is really easy to park one in order to chop rocks and collect from chickens without being delayed by dire boars and fang beasts. I have had a phoenix parked for over a day now.

The pendulum is really tiny and hard to see, plus they only drop from sparkling mines and not the deep mines. I normally get one at every collection of my sparkling mines.

Ok, place your bets on what the phoenix will drop.... I'm guessing orange petals

I?d go with anything particularly orange too, maybe gold items etc will be in the mix. Maybe orange or yellow ink?

Okay, an amendment to my earlier gripe: even though they recycled the same ol' code, they did one different thing I LOVE! Instead of gathering endless drops to craft a phoenix we just get one from upgrading the nest to top level. Yaaaay!!! Excellent change, and thank you S8!!!

Made the energy requirements computation. This event is not so insane as usual. Better balanced and possible for much more players, especially during year end breaks.

Please post your comments if my assumptions are of.

Thanks for making the table. It always gives me an idea of whether I am on track to finish.
I am getting a better rate on mushrooms (between 6-8 per 20 energy, so that would be around 3 energy per solar ink).
I'm doing worse on time shards. You have 3, but I get 5 or 6 per 20 energy, so that is more like 4.

Did you by any chance upgrade your nest or send out any adventures? Those both use the books. If not, then it is really disappointing that they just disappeared, you can send in a message to support, but it’ll probably take a while since it’s a holiday weekend. The good news is, at least they’re relatively easy to collect, and thankfully we don’t seem to need a ton of them this time.

The basic idea is that any communication between a player and S8 is considered to be personal information therefore not appropriate for forum discussions.

In order to go on the Adventure you need 5 of those red piles that come from rock outcropping, dark cave formation and Fisk trees. I?m getting zero from rock outcroppings, and the dark cave formations are 30 gems. I?ve chopped two dark cave formations and gotten one red pile from each. The cost of buying a red pile in the adventure is 15 gems so it makes no sense to buy a dark cave formation, wasting 15 gems. Too many gems to go on Adventures.

Yeah the drop rate for that orange/red dust thing is very poor. I chopped a dark cave formation to see the drop rate and it dropped NONE. So far I only have 7 of it so I went on 1 adventure. Thankfully it dropped 6 items

My ability to spawn skunkupines has been abysmal, and spawning fangbeasts and boars is a drain on my energy. So I am using my gems to buy skunkupine traps. (It's relatively cheap, if you have gems saved up.)
I use the trap to park a skunkupine, and then I can collect from chickens and mushrooms freely. And when I need a skunkupine there's one waiting.

While I have been a bit annoyed with some of the events lately, I personally must say I think they did a really great job this time.

Here is why:

- You have a realistic chance of getting both figures without paying gems, not just one. One is a walker one a static, so they appease both sides here.

- The needed resources are very well combined and working together. You need a lot of rocks, but the rocks also give you a decent chance to spawn a skunkupine (so far it was 50/50 for me between boar and skunku) and a chance for gold nuggets for the adventure (I got 2-3 already from the chopping) and while rare, also the dust for the adventure (still I got enough so far to already do 3 adventures)

- While Ivy's is a bit annoying, I get it. They want to make the chance even for newer and older players by using a building everyone has the same amount. Else the older players just plow through the quest like no tomorrow with their 20 alicorns and the new ones struggle alone.
However I feel it is fair. If you collect every 12 hrs, you can easily make it with no gems. Even missing some you can still make it with 22 needed and 28 chances for collecting. And that is not even taking into account the chances of getting extra time shards from the adventure, where you get the materials from just by chopping what you need anyways, without even having to go out of your way to chop extras.

So a kudos from me. Nice looking prizes. A bit for everyone. And realistic goals that you can reach without having to invest gems (unless you just want to be faster than anyone else, which is your own business really)

I've completed the new adventure 3 times and not received the future splinter. I was so hoping I would. I've received other drops that are fairly easy to obtain, so not a huge help. however, I'm trying again and hope that 4th time is charm.

Update: The 4th adventure completed and thanks to the luck of posting in the forum, I finally received a future splinter. Now I get to make a violin while waiting for Ivy's Hut. Thanks forum!

Further Update: The 5th adventure gave me 6 things. One of each resource needed for the three items we are crafting (besides the time shard). Very nice haul.

As for their staff, this is almost certainly a reworking of old code, to give them a break over Christmas, plus old code is already tested not to break anything else. Some of the goal process artwork is clearly reused with a colour filter - but the reward items are new designs, and the firebird art is worth the effort in itself.

Re-using tested code for a (for players) relaxed event before going on holiday: Excellent idea. Maybe you fron the CS staff team should invite your DS colleagues over and explain it to them. Oh, but you better wait a bit, since they are very busy right now cleaning up, as the last thing they did before they went on holiday were pushing out a release that
1) Messed up the previous event so late starters were unable to finish
2) Started a non-working new event, now next to impossible to complete in time
3) Launched a decent sale, which was a mistake, so the best items had to be re-drawn within hours

Dear CS team, you might not always get everything right, but you are doing pretty good, which the current event shows. Enjoy your well-deserved holiday and have a happy new year.

LOL. This is so true. I found myself thinking the same exact thing. While this is very similar to a past event, the prizes are different enough to appease me. For reasons I can't recall right now, I had to sit out the original event so it's no big deal for players like me or newer players who have no idea of the similarities. I just find myself thankful they didn't choose one of the rougher events that were both time and energy intensive.

I've been lamenting the fact that I'm averaging 2 soots per outcropping until this morning when I saw how everyone is struggling with it. Now I feel super fortunate with those results.

As for the skunks in my realm, I've been using my Monster Lair which is thankfully skunk heavy. I don't actually think I've ever gotten a fangbeast from it; a few boars, sure, but mostly it's skunkupines. My skunks also show for tomatoes but they do not like my flowers for some reason. I cleared over 30 and got 0 skunks so I'm sticking to my crops for now.

The 3rd individual prize (looks like a wrapped present) requires 125 petroglyphs. Not sure what you get from it yet - maybe upgrade requirements?

For lower level players (I am lvl 31/32):
Lvl 2: 1 of each crafted item + 4 time records
Lvl 3: same as lvl 2
Lvl 4: 2 of each crafted item + 4 time records
Lvl 5: 4 of each crafted item + 4 time records

The requirements for upgrading the phoenix nest have followed the exact same pattern as for upgrading the ember throne and soup kitchen as a lower level player - so I feel very confident in predicting that lvl 6 will require: 6 of each crafted item (and 0 time records)

Not sure I'm crazy about the third individual prize deco, the Time Rift.

41212

I mean, it's good that it's small and I like the look of it but obviously I would've preferred it to have drops of some sort. Also, since the deco is flat there's not many places I could display it (if I had the extra space) and have it be seen as everything towers over it. The deco comes in four separate pieces that are then put together.

For now, I'll live in the hope that the next prize, the harp thing, has drops.

I don’t understand why S8 doesn’t make events more fun and a little bit easier and then put some of the older things on sale on a regular basis. That way they could make money and we could all have fun. Selling things from past events would not make any extra work for them. I know that I would gladly pay for some of the things that I missed out on because I took a long break from the game. I took the break because the game was so frustrating for me and am now sorry because I missed out on some very nice items. I especially am lusting for the haunted keep-I would pay just about any price for it! Lol

It was a 14 day event, so a possible maximum of 28 collections. That gives you the chance to miss 5 or 6 without getting any from the quest. I haven't had any extras, and think I'm still on track. Yes, you need 8 shards, so 4 days, for the last upgrade. But if you collected from the beginning, you should complete and win the phoenix. I just lost my motivation...I thought there was a chance of getting a pet phoenix, but what looked like a phoenix (individual prizes) seems to be a harp on closer inspection. And the last community prize is a statue. Meh. I think I'll take a break, gather from Ivy's when I can and see at the end of the week whether or not I will go on.
I'm definitely not spending golden nuggets on adventures, since my supply was almost depleted from the golden trades.

The "statue" is really a static addition that drops gold items amongst other things, you do get a pet phoenix IF you finish upgrading the nest to lvl 6. No idea of its drops yet. You can always refer to page 1 to see the important info SW has posted from our players to help the rest of us out😇
So at the end of the event if you complete it, you get a kingdom walker, another source of gold (the sister), a phoenix pet, several kingdom decos😋

So far, I have spawned 1 skunkupine from normal sources. I have used four traps. I have 17 of each item to go and I started late. Even if I speed up Ivy's cottage a few times, I don't see getting enough skunks. They hate my kingdom. I still haven't even reached the fifty milk to get a baby one yet. They just never come. I refuse to spend 20+ energy as I have already done several times when I am maxed on every petal just to NOT spawn one. Maxed on the crops that attract them too. What the heck? On the other hand, this morning, I spawned three, THREE wild boars from one outcropping.

Well, I had to look real hard for that info (found it in post #4). Okay, I got my motivation back...

Anyone know what the third individual prize is?

See post #175 and #177

The third prize box a little time triangles dont know what there used 4..numbered 1 to v1 i pit them together but only deco it looks like..

Heres some advice for free skunks
Start w at least 15 turns
Plant 20 tomatos, in 10min they are ready to pick
Activate Harvest Champion (doubles crop returns) you dont care about the crop, you care about the turns
Harvest like a boss, immediately replant tomatos
Repeat
You should end each "cycle" with about 10-12 turns, (+ 3 more cause you have to wait 10 min to reharvest)
If you get a skunk, great, if you dont, you prolly will next time... but this lets you try for 3 hours to just build up skunk charms using as few turns as possible

Good luck

Weird, I don?t even have to care about the skunks. I planted corn, weat and tomato and never harvested a single one since I get a skunk every 2-3 rock outcroppings which is way enough since I?m only getting like 4-5 time shards per rock anyway. Maybe I?m lucky with the skunks - or probably unlucky with the shards...

Ivy is a nuisance though, I agree. But doable if one started immediately. And me too I already got like 3 gold
nuggets with all the chopping, which is more than I was able to spend on adventures (could do 2 adventures so far and only got quills and shards and so on).

I hope I actually get Aetas and she actually drops gold stuff more than like once in a fortnight. That would be very nice since I missed the chance to get a golden mine, it was only sold when I was not playing. Well, the gold items come with regular game play, too, I usually have just enough for the events. But having some extra or not having to worry too much about them would be a nice addon.

Anyway, I like the event. It?s quite the energy drain of course, even more than the one before, but I think that I can just manage to complete it without investing a substantial amount of gems and that seems great to me. Particularly if Aetas really gives some gold stuff. And the phoenix is awesome.

Many thanks, ShibuyaCloth. You are a star.

I started this event promptly but have missed out 2 or so collections from Ivy’s hut. I am now at level 4, and see I have about 250 time shards to go. I have geared up on mining rocks as my top priority in the hope I will get some more glittering soot (orange ash) for adventures. I have managed 3 adventures so far and chanced 1 future splinter on the last one. I am collecting 1 soot every 3-4 outcropping (60-80 hits).

ION the boar spawn rate is exasperating. I barely have to touch a rock outcropping before a boar spawns so I have a Phoenix packed until I’m ready to search for skunkupines.

To clear up confusion about skunks and rock outcroppings, they are dropping for *this* event. When it is over, rocks will stop spawning skunks. Skunks are also spawning from the 50-gem time rift tree.
The adventure is random on splinters. I got splinters on my 1st and 5th try. (I've only done 5). I was excited though, because I've never gotten the Ivy's Hut item from adventures before. Your mileage may vary.
My spawn rates for quills were abysmal yesterday, they seem to have picked up a little today. 1 in about 12-15 yesterday, 1 in 6-8 this morning. I want a better chicken!
The third individual prize is a 4-piece decoration that ends up being 2x2. It does not drop anything.
Sorry for using all the "I" language, but I can only report my own experience and it's subjective! ;)

Yes. I always watch the videos, and I did get an alicorn once.

BTW I am enjoying the event. Sorry that some don't, but we all like different things in CS. I love the way the Phoenix looks, and i appreciate that we will get both a walker and a static character.

I used ShibuyaCloth's table and worked out how many of each thing I need in the next 8 days, and it's all on track.
But I only have 95 Petroglyphs, and I really can't collect every two hours. I can do maybe five collections a day. I just need to squeeze in one more collection a day and I will make it.

Farmhouses DO NOT drop time records, phoenixes do. You need to clear your board of any other monsters. Please read the info tips on page 1, post 1. If you're getting all of the other materials still you'll soon catch up. Don't craft till you're in the goal except for the last goal.

I agree... and I really appreciate that this event seems doable!!! Thank you, S8!

Maybe I'm still on a shopping high from the holidays and I've become a bit greedy but seriously...Space is (as always) at a premium in our realms so I highly doubt any of us have the free space for decos that only look pretty. I just don't see much use in prizes that will only sit in storage to be forgotten.

I'm pretty sure the surplus neighbor gifts in events have always gone to our inventories. I did a quick scroll through my own and I have them from events from last year, most likely further back then that. Other than cluttering up inventories, they don't bother anything and lots of players (myself included) like having old items for collections' sake.

To everyone hunting for Skunkupines:

Skunkupines spawn from Rock Outcroppings.

Yes they also spawn Direbores (yes intentionally spelt that way ;) ) but not too many.
Rock Outcroppings are your best source of Skunkupines.
The amount of energy required chopping Rock Outcroppings is large, so to waste your energy on another source is going to be unachievable.
Never park a beast while chopping rocks until you reach all the Chimera Chains you need.

Wait until you have 20 energy (or more) and chop the whole outcropping at once.

Im averaging 1 Skunkupine and 1 Direbore per outcropping.

With that in mind, and the fact that I don't need them to level up to level 6, is there any benefit to continuing to fight Phoenix, which then will give me additional Time Records? Or should I park a beast for now and save energies, instead of slaying more of the beautiful Phoenix?

IMHO the Journey Through Time quest rewards (lack of future splinters) are beyond disappointing given the amount of energy expended to obtain the 5 needed glimmer soots (plus the gold nuggets). I think I’ve received 1 splinter in about 10 quests. I‘m done with that! Will focus on rebuilding my other resources and wait patiently for Ivy to drop splinters (and hope I finish in time).

Turns\Energy same same in my mind

And you are activating the Boost because it doubles not only the crop you are working(that you don't care about right now), but the the occasional energy when you harvest as well.
It's that doubling that lets you work this for 3 hours, ending with just as many turns as you started with, AND all the Skunks you can hold.

Using Shub's chart, count up the total number of Time Shards you will need to complete your goals... and harvest all the Rocky Outcroppings first. (Like I needed 150, so I pounded rocks until I had 150 shards... when done, (Over 55 total rocks smashed for this event) I had enough Soot to send out 8 total Journeys (Got 2 Ivy Shards back in total)
But this allows you to get all of one item, and as many of the random as you can. Now you can make your final decisions on the Journeys and see if you need any extra smashing, or math out the your remaining time vs what you need to accomplish.

Tryin to have FUn!

I haven't gotten to the point where I need to request the Malachite Gear yet, but I'm finding that some of my neighbour's requests for it show up in my "News" as being 2 days old and in a state where I haven't accepted them yet! I play a dozen times a day, and I'm sure I haven't derpped for 2 whole days straight on accepting help requests.

Is anyone else seeing these mysterious "2 days ago" requests pop up in their News feed?
Everyone gets them, sometimes up to a week old. It depends on how many requests your nbrs send out initially. Once a queendom receives 20 replies all the other requests roll over to the next day. So if a nbr sends out 40 requests, 20 are answered on day 1 and 20 are rolled over to day 2. If 55 requests are made, another 15 roll over to day 3. If over a hundred requests are made initially, then you are into day 6.

Ok, I think this makes sense now. Thanks for explaining. This seems very limiting... that S8 would purposely make a goal like "Request 20 of something from a neighbour" take 2 days to complete. Because you know not all 20 neighbours will respond on the first day. Guess it's a good strategy to assume any "request" item needed for an event will take 2 days to complete.

A 2 day old request appearing on your news-feed, means your nbr sent out such batch of request 2 days ago.
As your nbr sent in this case 40+ requests to various nbrs and only 20+1 are delivered daily.. you are now receiving extra backup requests, which actually are not needed in this event as only 20 were necessary.
The request system will keep sorting out until all the nbr requests have been delivered, with older dates as well, but this does not mean your nbr will need them all. We all send out more requests than what we need, just to make sure.

Yes because by sending out more requests than we need, we fulfill the requirement more quickly in time limited challenges and we make sure that we are covered if a few of our nbrs are taking a break from the game.
