It's a Chanukah recipe. It's Jewish bread. Looks like part one is Chanukah and part 2 is Xmas. I'm cool with that.

I am familiar with the bread. Isn't everyone? It's not an obscure bread, so I am going to be surprised to find that someone hasn't heard of it. But maybe they haven't. I'm just checking.

A Hanukkah goal now is poorly timed, should've been done weeks ago. Even Christmas is late in the game.

They probably won't tell us if we are keeping these recipes or not. Guess I'll do it and see.

Challah is a traditional bread served Fri eve and Sat lunch meals...for"Shabbat" Rugalach is a Jewish cookie, and gelt is Hannukah gold coin. I for one wish the gold and silver lights were a Menorah. The next part is totally Christmas as is final goal. It's nice they are doing both Holidays. Btw, Hannukah starts tonight.

S8 - PLEASE could you make the bots eat FASTER so that I can empty my counters?? I still have 100,000++ of pumpkin cookies, mummy cupcakes and spider brownies EACH from Halloween! I even have a spoon feeding chicken pen, horse pen, whatever you call it to speed them up and it messed up my design but STILL. And we also want to master the recipes, because oh, I don't know, you might TAKE them away from us again??

We recently got bombarded with Fall themed goals. So what do we get for the Holidays? More Brown. Brown Christmas lights. Really?

*Not everyone celebrates Christmas so it isn?t really fair to expect only traditional Christmasy stuff. I have no issue with new oven, but once again too many parts are required.

*One difficult goal ended today-WE NEED A BREAK BETWEEN GOALS

I believe Storm 8?s strategy is that with all the parts needed for new ovens, the shorter time span for goals and the frequency of the goals is that players that want to keep up will have no choice but to spend real money on gems. This is sure to backfire. If Storm 8 employees would read the forums they would see that players are getting frustrated. I?ve said this before but it seems like they are deliberately trying to alienate loyal players and drive away new ones. I used to have no problem spending real money on the game back when the game seemed fair and good old Team Lava used to listen to It?s players.
I can?t speak for every frustrated player out there, but I would love to hear Storm 8?s side of the story.

I don't think anyone can give you a definite answer until someone completes the goal (and perhaps also side goal) and work out the math.

I always build 6 of each and finish both the main and side goals within 7 - 10 days.

Hi, I failed the candycane goals terribly, because I only built two ovens. How many ovens do you suggest to build for this goal? Thank you all.

For 15 day goals, I normally build a minimum of 3. Normally I'll be able to finish the goals with um..say, 5 days left on the clock? (unless I go on vacation) I normally reach the second appliance when I hit the 9 days left mark. (the 1 hr / 2 hr recipes usually slow me down) Because you'll need the rest of the appliance slots for the basic appliances for the side goals. This is assuming you have all 18 slots available, a good stockpile of parts AND good neighbours that answer requests. Also, don't wait to build all 3. The moment one stove/oven is done, start cooking. You'll be fine, and enjoy the game :)

As someone who celebrates Christmas I’m SLIGHTLY disappointed that it’s not a Christmas goal however I love recipes and things from other cultures and we do have to remember we aren’t the only ones celebrating a major holiday in December, plus it looks like the prizes are Christmas related. I think this goal is a good compromise between the two and the ovens are really cute

It's also something new - I think our decorations have been mostly red/ green so another color would be great.

I can see with the new effort of storm 8 designing new recipes and bringing back the old recipes in the basic oven which everyone asked for , I know the candy cane oven recipe should be a glitch , so calm down , I'm excited for more new recipes and goals. I know this is off topic but I googled Menorah and google search page actually changed and shows a table with a feast and cute animations. It's so interesting to know of other ppl's cultures! Thanks for bringing variety into the game, S8!

:D thanks for the goal S8 and for releasing the old recipes back! I believed in you! Anyway, I think the goal prizes are perfect for Christmas... Especially the white elephant prize. For those of you lucky enough to have the titanbaum Christmas tree, I think it'd be a great addition. I don't have it but I like that we finally have some sort of gift exchange scene as we haven't had one before. I also really like the white lit tree since its do different from the more traditional trees that we've got so many of already. Really, everything looks great and I can't wait to see what the side goal prizes will be. Hopefully it'll be something new or something I don't already have since I'm a longtime player but really, anything is great!

Neither are winter holidays. Both are religious holidays. It happens to be winter in many places, like the good old US of A, but it isn't winter everywhere.

I'm glad that you're happy with the timing. At least someone is! I prefer to have the decorations before the holidays begin. At least this year we shouldn't run PAST the actual holidays before the goals end. Maybe next year, we can get them pushed back further. Here's hoping!

S8, please PLEASE do NOT remove these recipes. I feel bad for the newcomers who haven’t been able to unlock these all this time, but it would be SO wrong to remove it from the people who have had it for all of these YEARS!

I agree. I have been playing on and off since 2017. When I came back 3 or 4 days ago after a 7 month hiatus I was able to make one batch of the regular candy canes and then it was gone. I am really sad about that and now I just found out that the other goals to unlock the other candy cane flavors are over - apparently they were over when I came back on lone. Now I have a Candy Cane Oven that only make 1 food item. Very disappointing.��

SO I?ve read through at least the first 5 ish pages and I don?t see too many people who have been playing as long as I have (at least since 2012, possibly a bit sooner). i don't see why did they decided to remove them at all. this is out of logic we've seen since the game started.
one thing, you can add & remove smth seasonal / limited when it's available for ALL during some time frame, but the other thing is when you take away the RECIPES that some players EARNED by doing goals.

of course these recipes were tantalizing me over 4 yrs, sitting there in cookbook and being locked, so i'm glad to have possibility to serve and master them now.
but i don't think it's fair to users who did the goals for them.

i could suppose that maybe they will remove them only for those like me, but no special hopes for this: never seen they removed smth from one group of ppl's availability and didn't - for other group. otherwise, newbies wouldn't see those "red miles" of forever locked decor & ovens in market tab's tail...

This is true. I hastily wrote my long rant but what I meant was I was reading what people wrote and very few were saying that they had ever HAD those recipes before. This is what I meant. Not in relation to the dates on people?s info for the forum. I wish that WE ALL COULD keep these recipes whether you had them before this event or not.

Jojocl: thank you for posting that they have added the new candy canes back to the machine. Because when I checked just hours before posting, all that was left was the candy cane cake. But you already knew that lol. I just pulled it back out of storage to see with my own two eyes. Still wish they had left the original, but this is much better than only having the one recipe on the machine.


To all others that replied to my comment, I agree, I am obviously very upset that they surely will yank them away from all whether you earned them through goals or not. As I said I wish we could all keep them. I?m just sick of the new lows that I seem to continue to find. I really am happy for everyone who had them locked and now get to enjoy them as well. Will try to make as many as I can in the time that I have left with my beloved Christmas recipes.

It?s tough, I guess that is why everyone is complaining about the duration of the goal. I build 4 new ovens every new goal and ask my nbrs for parts even when there isn?t a goal. This way I hope I don?t have to request too many parts when a new goal comes out, so I can start baking sooner and get to the sidegoal faster. I play on my tablet at home but I have my game on my phone as well. When I am not home I very fast do the things I need to do on my phone. It?s absolutely not ideal and I get flies way too often but it?s the best or actually the only way for me.

This game was more fun when there wasn?t so much (time) pressure. I know I don?t HAVE to do the goals but what is the point of playing when you don?t get new things to change your bakery?

We have had tons of Xmas, Hindi, Yoga, Muslim, Zen stuff, Halloween, Wiccan, vampire, Greek history, Chinese New Year, even Easter, but zero Jewish decor. I?m probably leaving a bunch of countries and their festivals out. Please S8, don?t leave us out! Maccabees, Torah scrolls, Menorah?s or Hanukkiahs, dreidels, Holy Temple, King David, gelt, Stars of David, Orthodox Jewish people, Shabbat tables set. There is a ton to choose from. Passover, Shavuot, Sukkot, Hanukkah, Purim, those are the big ones. Please please consider us when you plan. Thank you

@ginrae, they will probably be back next year. It sucks that people who unlocked them through the goal a while back lost them also. That bites. But they will probably be back. Weren't they returned to players before? I didn't play last year during the whole holiday season so I have no idea. But I thought they tend to return seasonally. I really don't understand why they have a need to take recipes away in general. But I guess it gives it a more special feel when seasonally looking recipes are only available for a short time once or twice a year. Because then, when they come back, it creates excitement.

I agree 100%. Too much negativity. I see a lot of the same players complain repeatedly. It is after all just a game meant for enjoyment. Seems that if they don't like the way the game works then they would just stop playing. But some people just like to find something to complain about.

I absolutely love BS & RS! Storm8 has really listened to players in regards to giving us the opportunity to have older appliances and decor. Thanks S8!

I completely agree with you. A few years ago, RS had a few decor items (no recipes, though), but nothing since then.. I improvised this year. I combined some tables and Halloween candles and made a Menorah:)

Based on my observation, it appears when we post from mobile. When I type on desktop, it stays as an apostrophe. And I believe it was also twospoons who said that it was because of different keyboards that the forum doesn't recognise the language and hence appears as a "question mark".

What colour combo is that of silver and gold?? And the 'White Elephant' is just too big, imo. Nice, but a bit out of proportion. Why are they bigger than the bots who comes in to eat at our bakery?

I am sad that the Christmas recipes (especially the yule log and peppermint mocha which looks so well designed and yummy) are only available for a short time. However, I do agree with another player that because they're seasonal items, and so are only available during Christmas thus makes ppl want them more. I guess that's what keeps the game interesting. Two ways to go about it. I can only hope that S8 will continue to release them every Christmas. So in a way it's a compromise. :) (and also add more pretty and delicious Christmas recipes, please! :D)

You're absolutely right on! It's happening way too much and that's why I believe BS/RS will be phased out. I'll stop at that since this conversation is off topic and will probably be removed. I do love your spirit :)

Aw, thanks. :) I do hope that these two games continue on.. If they would just apply some of the great suggestions the players have made, I'm sure BS & RS will be around for much much longer. It was such a fun and relaxing game when I first started playing (minus the 1 hr goal recipes that made me quit halfway), but now I'm not so sure :/
