Tough tournament despite the great help listed above - thank you all so much for posting! Have needed at least two goes at each round. After 24 hrs only just finished round 5...

Yes thank you Jmatarii for posting your results. I just hope S8 isn't using the results posted to use against us. It seems that the usual correct element animals aren't working as before. These tournaments are definitely getting more difficult and sometimes it's the right element but you need to use it 3 or 4 times.

I've noticed too, I have a "battle squad" of animals I use regularly and have posted results specifying them, certain ones aren't doing as well now while some rounds were won with a neutral element rather than the normal strong that couldn't do the job. We post here to help each other, seems s8 is using our results against us.

The impression I get is that an element's effectiveness percentage varies over time. For a while, I will have a high percentage of success with, let's say Service, against element combos that it is strong against. But after a period of time, the overall success decreases, and I go through the other elements until I find one that is having a high-success period. I tend to lean on Service, Cosmic, Autumn, Crystal, and Rainbow pretty heavily - often because in the list, their first animals are near the top alphabetically. Christmas & Skull get less use because their animals are further down the list.

I really wish we had an element filter for battles. It would make my life SO much easier! LOL

I'm the same way. During one tourney, a certain animal will be doing great. For example, Gretel is a great fighter for me. Then other times, she can't win a darn thing. It just seems to vary. Usually the animals other people post don't work for me, I get that last little sliver of red!! But I then go through and try all my high level animals of that element. I use Gretel, Cerberus, and the magic?(Harry Potter element?) and rainbow. Then after that I just wing it.... I never use service. I better level those dogs up and give them a try. :)

Wish I had your luck! I've been stuck on 22 for a number of rounds now. For my last two tries, I used Stamodillo, once all earth attacks, and once all fire attacks. I'm still on round 22. Maybe it's because my Starmodillo is only level 10. I'll have to try something else next round.

I just tried rainbow attack with my Tye-dye Tiger. That didn't work either. I'll try my Grand Unicorn next.

Ive been stuck on a few of them for so long, i just have been going through my animals trying every element combo using all the special ones first, eventually i find the right one but I know it sucks, hope something works for you soon! i know the frustration this game gives is the worst!

When my usual fighters fail I always go back to the single element animals. Though it's been hit and miss on the Topaz Pony rounds for me. Sometimes Pyro Pony will take Topaz down the first time, other times I'm stuck on one round all day. This tournament is making me crazy lol :p

Having the same problem on round 30. Ash, my Pyro Pony, is surprisingly usually one of my best fighters, and when he fails my Flyerfox, Blaze, can usually pick up his slack. The past few hours have been fail after fail for me.

This tournament is definitely kicking my butt. So tired of it. They made it really tricky by using so many "opposite element" critters. For instance, a lightning/fire animal. Normally I use water to battle a fire animal, but in this case, the lightning neutralizes the water, so I can't get a critical or a strong. They did that with *a lot* of the animals in this battle. Surprisingly, my lower level account, which only has a couple animals with "special" elements, like Zodiac and Rainbow, is doing better than my high level account. Of course, because I have *So many* animals on my main account, and there is no option to sort by element, I get tired of searching for the animal I just want and sometimes just "grab" whatever is handy and hope it wins. Not a very good strategy.

I took him down with my Pearl Peryton with one water hit. I've never used Pearl Peryton in the tournaments so I was pleasantly surprised :) If your usuals fail, try Frostfang!

God this is a ****er finally got level 29 with my Peruvian llama but then my trusty starmodillo failed me on 30 for the first time time tourney grrrr. Can't see me finishing this, which I'm gutted about as really really want the pony, will keep fighting till the bitter end though! Just won the last round using the Garnet Pony. I now have a beautiful Topaz Pony sat in storage, waiting for a nest to free up.

Good luck to all still trying. This has been the hardest tournament I've taken part in in a while.

Now I'm only missing two ponies. December (yet to come) and Emerald (I was away on holiday when its flash tournement was on and got back in its last 2hours).

Here's to hoping they give me a way to get the Emerald next year. It is by far my favourite of all the Birthstone ponies, and the only one that's been released that I do not have.

But the Topaz looks great at lvl 15. look forward to getting it there.

For the ones that you're 'stuck' on, I don't think there's anything to do other than keep doing what you're doing with strong attacks and then just waiting until you're lucky.

Ugh. This has easily been my worst tourney yet. I'm on level 39 only. Got stuck on three separate animals for a day each. S8 really needs to adjust the odds a little as I battle at least 13 times a day usually a couple more yet I'm getting nowhere fast.

Congrats to all those who got the pony. I gave up yesterday, on Round 32. After my second try on that round, with only 18 hours left, I realized there was no point - there was no way I was going to win each remaining round in one try, and even if that were possible, I would have had to forgo sleep and pull an all-nighter. to do it. So I reminded myself it's just a game, and also noted that my Fall Foal actually looks quite a bit like the Topaz Pony. My seven-ish hours of sleep last night were good, too. :)

Don't feel bad I'm exactly the same. I didn't buy any gems that were on sale till this morning because I knew I'd be tempted to get to the end of this tournament. But I had the daily stock from neighbour's so had enough to get thru the last 8 battles. I wouldn't have completed if I didn't use 70+ gems. Not too bad though considering how much the Topaz pony cost if purchased. I think once you've got so far having to complete 30 rounds for storybook it seems silly to not carry on. I keep telling myself each time I'll complete 30 round and leave it at that. But with all the effort that's put in to get to round 30 I just want to carry on and complete the tourney.

I think it is because it actually ended too early! Some people had still like 16 hours left until they were done with Storybook...but couldn't complete the last goal, since tournament ended BEFORE they even made it that far.

Same with me i used 70+ gems to get thru the tourney as I didn't think I would complete using hourly battles. I've just read the comments and feel I wasted my gems too. Why didn't they change the timer and let us know.
