TWO fails trying for Hoot - second one 12 hours. This will make it very difficult to complete.
THIRD Fail - Another 12 hours
TWO more 12 hour fails in the dens - up to 5 Fails now
Make that 7! And now nests are tied up for another 12 hours

SO with a total of EIGHT fails and a wait of 12 hours before next attempt it seems I’m out of it.
BUT I’m actually relieved. All my accumulated food can be spent on dragons that regularly win battles.
I may even get passed my current Round 16 record!

I’ve saved myself Gold as well ‘cause if I’d got Hoot I would have been forced to spend gold to get thru the battles.

I agree; however, a necrotic nest would probably only hatch dead/stillborn dragons anyway. Gross!

So from what I can gather from the list of chapters from Harobeda and thanks by the way, if we complete act 4 in Chapter 8 we will have received 2600 treats.

Currently I have 17500 treats so as much as I would like the final dragon, I will not be going past Act 4 in Chapter 8, this is getting a bit too much and as we don’t appear to be getting a land expansion any time soon. This will probably be my last partial event.

We need to a breed Hoot Dragon at 8 hours, red and yellow.

We need to craft the following:

Nest decoration = 3 scrolls (each needs 4 books and 2 candles)+2 red gems
1 Bat Swarm deco (3 candles)
1 Flying Pumpwings deco (2 books and 1 candle)

Which means we need 14 Books and 10 Candles from the quests. We also need 2 red gems. This is assuming that our typical procedure of letting a crafted decoration wait until the next day to be collected counts. The tales prompts us to quest for 2 candles (chapters 4, 6) and 4 books (chapters 3, 5, 7, 9), leaving us 18 quests to squeeze in - since Dark Omen is breeding through chapter 7 and 8 I think most of those 18 extra quests need to be done by the end of chapter 6. Might be able to do some quests during chapter 9 - but for me, they need to be done before chapter 10 starts for my comfort. It'll depend on the breeding as to how difficult it'll be to finish up the quests.

Our food requirements are fairly typical of a tales:

Dark Omen Dragon to a level 14 is 234,975 food
Neo Bat Dragon to a level 12 is 110,460 food
Hoot Dragon to a level 6 is 1245 food

Total food required is 346,680 food.

Dark Omen is busy! 6 hours crafting, 7 hours hatching, 7 hours evolving three times, plus minimum of 24 quests, and unknown amount of breeding (twice). That's 106 hours PLUS breeding times.

Neo Bat will be busy once he's crafted during Chapter 7. 7 hours crafting, 6 hours hatching, 6 hours evolving three times, plus 3 different battles with Neo Bat. That is 31 hours plus whatever healing he goes through.

I'm still recovering food from the last event. And I know I'm going to need a lot to get the first two dragons. I'm level 162 and I have never been able to get the third dragon thanks to the food requirements. Not everyone has extra money to spend on gold to complete everything! :mad:

It's intentionally designed so most players will end up short on the Skelequeen... so they will have to spend money if they want to collect that dragon. S8's "new and improved" MO is to paint players into a corner, a corner they must pay to get out of. How fun and rewarding!

I like Dark Omen and will be happy to add him to my collection. Super glad he's first.

Undecided on Neo Bat. He's attractive, but doesn't have that "Ooo! I gotta have it!" factor. If breeding Hoot gives me any troubles, I'll have no qualms about dropping the event and missing out on Neo Bat.

Don't much care for Rattle- certainly not enough to spend THAT much food on it- and Halloqueen in still as hideous as she was last year. I'm doing the first few Chapters and will see how it goes on Neo Bat.

Otherwise, I'm back to twice-a-day check-ins to replant Diamond Dates and to rotate the den and evo dragons. Maybe I'll try for Bat (I've never managed to get one) after Black Cat re-expires. I'm glad for the break. I really wanted Mummy, and keeping up with the LB activities the past few days was exhausting. Even after just a short period of reduced playtime the past 2 months, I'm already baffled at how I used to manage keeping up with everything, all the time, for so long. It's so stressful and draining.

Not sure if this is happening on android, but I play on a iPad and iPhone and when you send Dark Omen on the quests, there is no status bar unless you swipe off and then back on. Why can't S8 play/test their own game for bugs before its pushed to us. Sorry, getting so tired of all these bugs, not to mention all the crashing that's still causing so many such aggravation

You get them already the whole month after finishing breeding and moving egg in nest.

Pre-breed & move to nest when cued worked for me. Doing this will cover both cases, if the pre-bred was not accepted, you just breed another pair(fire+fire=10sec).

Kooky is asking what level are you. Like are you level 16, level 32, level 40, etc. Kooky's asking because the tasks for the Dragon Tales are broken down into 3 different groups. Group 1 are high level players - levels 91-200. Group 2 are mid level players - levels 41-90. Group 3 are beginning level players - levels 1-40.

I was thinking maybe had to do with Dark Omen's invisibility issue. Just sent him out and noticed both the missing timer and that he doesn't do the Quest animation (the hovering and poof of smoke). These numerous, sloppy errors and the increasingly frequent rollbacks make me feel like the game is disintegrating right before our eyes.

I found my game behave strangely.
Was on public WiFi earlier, swore i should have completed the act, placing the first flying pumpwing on my island. Game pop up said i complete n show next act 's content. But i return home an hour or two later n found my game roll back as i move breeding to nest, thinking that should proceed my tale. But no pop up, my tale act had rolled back with empty craft shop....

How come tale mission rolled bAck?
This set me back a lot , as i have to put out more quests, n redo breeding ,had to wait for new breeding finish....urgh.. Furthermore, I have not breed hoot yet. Hd crusader fail that i had to use a lot of boost to make breeding finish earlier to fit tale mission.

Maybe it is super rare as well as purple and blue, as it seems that is impossible to breed. Maybe it is only red and yellow for some.
C’mon S8 give us a break. Not getting treats when earned either. If I cannot get the queen because of these issues this will be my last event and will just play and collect food. Skipping is bad choice as you have to level Hoot to 6 & breed it with Dark Omen in later chapters.

I did breed Hoot later got it on the first try. It’s now evolving to level four. What was so frustrating is when I was on that task of the quest I did get 8 hours breeding purple and blue. I was so disappointed when it turned out to be Godmother and that’s when I just skipped it. Then found out Hoot is yellow and red. Thanks and Good luck!

Glad I used the forums to look at the tasks ahead of time and learned Hoot is RED and YELLOW, not purple and blue. What about all the players who don't use the forums?? They won't be able to advance past Chapter 6, Act 2.

The recent, obvious carelessness and the (now expected) sloppy errors in the game have finally become more than an annoyance and a sad joke. Your careless mistakes are *****ing and screwing over your players. You know- the paying customers who you should be trying to please and to NOT screw over? Do you all seriously expect players to keep on shelling out more and more cash on these broken events in a rapidly deteriorating game?? Smdh. Is the entire company deteriorating as fast as the game?

You all should be TOTALLY embarrassed by such a lazy, sloppy mistake, especially since you have been called out on similar carelessness multiple times in the past six weeks.

But, I have a feeling nothing more than "Meh," and a shrug from the "Team" is all it will inspire. (and probably instructions to "close the app and reopen it," plus the deletion of complaint posts. *eyeroll*)

Maybe it's time to stop cranking out these non-stop, copied-and-pasted events, regroup, tighten up, and relaunch the game with fresh eyes, a fresh attitude, and some adequate quality control/standards.

If you left the breeding den open going into the task, then just breeding diamond and air could give a 2 hour breeding that ought to count...

Any kind of breeding (except a fire dragon) should count. If you have something ready to collect just hold it until prompted. Or try green and diamond. One other poster said breeding forest worked to get black pumpkins.

You can breed anything. I have left dragons in the den that are ready to hatch until that step comes up and it has worked both times to satisfy the goal :)

2500 pumpkins for the Queen is piddly, I got them, but I'm still 8,000 short. I've got almost as many for my second Skeleking.

My baby account, with only one breeding den and 1 nest, now has 2 Hoot dragons. Level 115 account with 2 dens and 2 nests is *finally* getting a Hoot today. I don't think it will matter, though. I accidentally fed all my saved food to the *Skeleking* not the Dark Omen dragon, so I can't get him to level 14 anyway. Ugh!

I don?t understand why S8 made it so difficult to get the Skelequeen dragon. I crafted a second Skeleking before I realized I already had that one. It will be sold as there is no use for two of them. If by some miracle I actually get to craft a Skelequeen the extra king would have to go bye bye anyway.

Now waiting to start chapter 9. Using down time to build up food sources. I should have enough food to finish because I got my reserve built up a little bit earlier.

This seems to be the easiest tales event ive seen in a LONG time. I wont complain because it doesnt coincide with any battle events. Im just annoyed with myself because I didnt pay attention and thought the battles were needed and didnt finish the one that just left.

Opting to not need to go up against higher level ones. Silly me, I could have kept playing!

Anyways, I also wont complain since I bred Gossamer when using dark omen with diamond. I had both dens going trying for it. The last two chapters seem annoying. It looks like ill need go decide to throw the 75 gems at building the nest. It requires too many supplies in a short period of time.

Ch8.2 Breed Dark Omen(D.O) with Hoot gave a 44h Diamond & I need (D.O) for 6 more Quests to get materials for the Necrotic nest. So if you still have quests for (D.O) finish the quests first before starting Ch8.2 task. You can level up Neo Bat to L12 while (D.O) is doing the quests. Neo Bat12 has better chances of winning the 3 battles required for Ch8 & 9 than at L5 or 6. You can also battle away unsuitable candidates for Neo Bat while waiting for the quests & evolutions to complete.
There is still a mandatory Quest using (D.O) in Ch9 so maybe skipping this breeding with Hoot
may be a better option if you do not have gold or breeding boosts to speed up a 44h breed.

I already have a Diamond15 so this 44h loss of time due to (D.O) stuck at the Breeding Den
probably means an unfinished DT unless I use 4 x10 Breeding boosts from Bingo or 40 golds.

Raising any dragon in Tales to the required level early will definitely count. I raised my Dark Omen to 14 as soon as he came off the nest and all of the acts autocompleted.

One way that these forums are used is to share information about events and so forth. If you read post 1, it will show you that you eventually need to raise Dark Omen all the way to level 14, as well as raising Neo Bat to level 11 or something like that. Somewhere in the pages of this thread there is also information on how much food it takes to raise each dragon to the required level. So, in the future, you might want to consult the event threads *before* you use up all your food and be able to plan and prepare ahead of time.

Yes, my second account is only level 60, but it was lower when the Tales started, and it requires that I feed Dark Omen to 14, so I'm out. I've gone as far as I'm going to go in this tales. I managed to get him to level 12, and, like you said, that required using all the food I had been saving for some time.

I agree, this is the first Tales where I've been in the second tier, and since moving up from the first one, I haven't gained the ability to get extra food, I can still only get the same amount as before. The only reason I'm going to have enough to finish this Tales is because there was that extra Leaderboard event that added an extra week for me to collect food before this started

One way that these forums are used is to share information about events and so forth. If you read post 1, it will show you that you eventually need to raise Dark Omen all the way to level 14, as well as raising Neo Bat to level 11 or something like that. Somewhere in the pages of this thread there is also information on how much food it takes to raise each dragon to the required level. So, in the future, you might want to consult the event threads *before* you use up all your food and be able to plan and prepare ahead of time.

And while all that is true, it is also true that absurd, expencive requirements leach all the fun from the game. My complaint is more about how much things cost in real dollars with all the games this company makes. I understand they're running a business, but by this stage stage most businesses have figured out that it's easier and more repeatable to get $1 from 100 people than $100 from 1 person.

So the final prize dragon, Rattle, has a 39 hour incubation time - how in the world are we supposed to complete the side goal (have Rattle and the Necrotic Nest deco)?? Am I missing something?

When I posted this, the expiration time for the side quest was only 2 days longer than the expiration date of the tales. It seems that there was a very small adjustment made because now my tales ends in 2 days and the side goal ends in 5 days. That means I'll now have 3 days to hatch Rattle in order to get the Spooky Token. It's still kind of tight timing if you ask me :(

Bred Hoot right away with Diamond and Mythic on all 3 accounts. Not sure if it's a lucky combo or they decided to make it easier on us this time.

There are 15 hours left and I still have not bred a Hoot Dragon. I would say you were very lucky or I am very unlucky. It's probably me being unlucky as I have never been able to finish one of these due to hatching a specific dragon. It is very frustrating as I play all the time and definitely try.

Well attempt 10 to breed Hoot and another 12 hour timer.
At the moment this is the end for me.
I will play this game a little bit longer but sending messages to my Gold trading neighbours that I will not be with Dragon Story any longer.
Tales was the last thing I enjoyed in this game, I even spent gold on catching up last Tales due to difficult breeding but no longer. S8 with this randomness has ****ed Tales for me and the last enjoyable aspect of the game, I will also be stopping another S8 game due to how they structured their goals which meant I could not complete the tasks as I had to wait 3 days waiting on neighbours before I could progress on the event.
This leaves only 3 S8 games and one I have nearly finished producing all that I could the other 2 I have lost interest in progressing as well.
Good luck to all those trying to complete this Tales and the future with DS as well.

This is the first tales event ive finished in MONTHS. ONLY because I threw 75 gems at the create the nest part. There were NO dragon battles happening. And finally, Ive been making sure I stock up on food.

The battles and food amounts always made me unable to complete. I really wish they'd do all of the remaining battles this way and not let them overlap anymore. Its a cheap money grab, unless you have a mountain of gold or food saved.

And like someone mentioned between these tales and the leadership events, with NO new farms in site, whomever has the gold usually wins.

Just finished this event. I am not a "Tales" person, but recently LDBs events are too tough for me. Single nest, evo temple and no gold producing minions. Probably from now on I'm going to do this events for UR drags.
This particular dragon gave me a good motivation to give it a try, you know...The only one I liked when promoted, the first look at it.
New batch for November, there is one red-yellow dragon on the bottom line I like/fourth small one, left to right/. Hope I'll be able to get it.

If I manage to get the Token, it is going to be 15 tickets for me. I've got the SK on the nest till tomorrow morning, then I'll hatch Rattle, craft SQ to be ready. Hope wont't miss a thing.

For the record- only 12 gold spent on poor battle performance of Batty drag :) Won 2 0f 3 .Third round I had to "Ultimate".

Sometimes force closing the app can make it recognize the neighbor's responses. Between my mother and I we have enough devices to give ourselves the 5 requested items. But when it was 15 (old tales) it was nearly impossible.

With the exception of having to breed an outside dragon (the "common" but ultra rare Hoot) and the cut and paste involved with the task (for what that means, go back a few pages), this Tales has actually been pretty decent. I'm not going to say great because the one for Nightwing was way better (and getting Skyshatter wasn't bad either) but I wouldn't say it was horrible either.
PLEASE STORM8, STOP HAVING PLAYERS BREED OUTSIDE DRAGONS FOR DRAGON TALES, LEADERBOARDS AND WORLD EVENTS!!!
If a dragon is listed as "common" then have them be "common" in the events if you want to require one be bred. There's no reason at all why some of the players couldn't get Hoot after 10 or so tries during this event. I know the breeding is "not manipulated" during events but after looking at the comments about breeding Hoot, it doesn't look right.
Other than those two gripes, I would give this Tales a 7 out 10. Dark Omen and Rattle are creative dragons, Neo Bat is nice in color but I'm still not crazy about Neo anything, the decorations are useless as usual, and, overall, it was a decent Tales with good dragon prizes.

Same with me. I spent gems so I didn't have to upgrade Neo Bat and was just ready to craft the Necrotic nest and do the four battles with 12 hours to go. This is not right! I agree that they are in such a big hurry to start a new event that they can't wait for others to finish. Obviously there are too many things going on for them to keep things straight. I loved it when we first started and things were at a slower pace. That is why I quit the Fantasy Forest game. I am thinking about never doing Tales again if this isn't made right.
