Question on the red stars

I tip and gift my neighbors. Once you get to four stars, do the extra red stars you get even matter??

Yes, it still adds to your star rating even though it isn't displayed. I keep tipping beyond 4 and find it takes longer before it begins to deminish.

I believe the star level is like xp level. It may just show a 4 , but you could be higher. That is why when some people complain that they get to a 4 then do not tip much they drop in a day to a 3. My games were down a while ago due to device transfer issue and I only dropped to a 3 and it only took me about 10 visits to get my 4 back.
