Hey Guys,
The issue of Whale Fountain still locked despite completing the side goals was reported yesterday. Unfortunately due to current long weekend in US, the team will look into and fix this after the weekend. They may not be able to get it out to us until Tuesday. They send their apologies for this. Much appreciate your patience and understanding. :)
Just want to let you all know you need not write to Support for the Whale Fountain being locked. They will fix this for everyone affected. Thanks.

SIDE QUEST
This Side Quest unlocks alongside Step 7 of the Main Goals. Completing this is optional and will not affect your progress in the main goal line.
Note: the final prize (Whale Fountain) is currently not unlocking for players who have finished this goal. The Restaurant Story team is aware of the issue and is working to get it fixed.
UPDATE: The above issue has been addressed :) The Whale Fountain should unlock as normal now.

:( Sigh... I really wish we'd get some original content for a change. The color's not even right for proper Nori dishes - Nori is much darker, closer to black.

I have been thinking about this for a long time now, but with the new goals today, before a new month has even started, I decided to come to the forums and say something.
There have been way too many goals lately and way too many new appliances!!! Both in Bakery Story and in Restaurant Story. I can hardly keep up, I don't have any time to recover and finish building one set of appliances before another set comes out. It's just too much too fast!
I know some people would say then just don't play, but I still enjoy these games and I don't like missing out on any events. I just want them to slow down some! Maybe make a new set of goals every other month, or every 6 weeks, not every 2-3 weeks. It's just too much!!
These games are becoming more and more stressful to play, rather than relaxing. I used to play them to have fun and relax, now it's like a second job. Dragon story is getting pretty bad wit the intensity of all the new goals, events and the weekly point count.
I have already stopped playing several of the S8 games, just because there's not enough time in the day for me to play them all. I still play six of them daily and it feels so hectic that it's actually stressing me out.
Please slow down the pace some, so the games become more enjoyable once again.

No, every other month would make the game too boring especially since they haven't been doing regular non goal related updates.

Wow, lots to comment on!
1) I think s8 is just visiting pixie's places and thinking "hey, that's a good idea!" (Sorry these displays can't join your BS aquarium!)
2) love the counters!!!
3) really like the displays, in a this-is-just-pixels-so-i-don't-have-to-worry-about-animal-welfare way
4) will really work with my zoo restaurant! Yay!
5) always liked these FS floors
6) I'm okay with the recipe reuse, if I have to pick between original decor and original recipes, I pick decor. Kind of interesting rethinking of dishes, even if the color's wrong.
7) yeah, goals are a bit much these days. But playing 3 bakeries & restaurants was my (ridiculous) choice, so I'll just do my best, and not sweat it when I don't make it the whole way.
8) man, I wish I weren't broke!

I'm still doubtful about doing this goal!
I'm wondering if Storm8 have ever read our numerous complaints about the time between new goals!
Anyway I've found a solution for myself! As I want to enjoy the game (I really don't like to do it as an exhausting task) and I need some time on my own, I decided to close my restaurant when there's no goal. I still check my RS once per day to send/receive gifts.
It's a bit weird, but I'm doing it!

They've been doing this for a few months now, with Restaurant Story items for Bakery Story and vice versa. I don't play Fashion Story though. I actually thought this update was original.. Until I saw your post xD

Ooh goodie, new goal! But man, I wish they started it after BS one is done though. Majority of us play both games so it is rather stressful to keep up with both games at the same time (what with S8 introducing side goals too) and still have a life.
Loving the counters and wallpaper! First time for me to have 3 different and new counters in a goal and they look pretty too! The Porpoise Juggling looks fun! I wonder what are the rest of the prizes. I have too many locked items that I can't tell, lol. I think the Whale Fountain is the final prize? which will be awesome!
I do agree that the appliance name should reflect the recipes at least. Maybe they should rename it to Seaweed-nator. lol I'm okay with recycled recipes anyhow
Still, thanks for the new goal S8, and the other players who posted pictures! :)

Why can't I use the "tickets" that I have from another goal? I have 30 and now have to ask neighbors for more. I don't mind the reuse of game play items, in fact... It is rather smart. We need to be able to use the items we already have if they will be the same. We need to be able to use up these items we already have to keep our storage down.

I love this update, the counters are so cute. Building the first oven is taking forever - I really wish they'd go to 2 parts instead of 3 even if keeping the overall number of items the same. Please reduce the complexity!

I think the seaweed ice cream is a little ugly and fuzzy, but if it fits the theme, cool. Seaweed pastry looks like it might be okay and is NOT on a blue plate - yay!. Also not minding another sea theme. Two in a row means we can use the stuff together (maybe). That's nice.
Sadly, we again do not have counters on which to serve the food. Why the counters can't be purchased before the food is served, I'll never know. Kind of a duh thing, imo.
Wish they'd alternate weeks with BS. This is getting to be a little much. The RS (no BS) people would get goals just as often, but those who play both could do one at a time.
I was hoping for Back-To-School, but what can you do. :/

I like it. These are some of my favorite dishes from BS, especially the Jade Puffs. I think the seaweed spin is cute. :)
New theme with old ideas (it could have been so much better S8)... again and again same old recipes with the same old ovens, well nobody is reading.
Omg, my eyes aren't the best, generally, and are worse today than usual, so this is not a rhetorical question. Hoping someone will answer/confirm.

There's 3 different new counters that do not need to be unlocked during the goal.
I saw that & did get one, but I don't want to buy a bunch & then find out they were the wrong one or don't count. I've made the mistake of buying early and having things not count before. I wish these guys would have us buy the counter before we serve the food. Makes sense to me.

Grrrrrrrama! Because you know after this recipe it will be time to build new appliances.
In which you'll need to request new parts. I was kinda hoping that request for tickets
could be at a later time. Oh well.
I am however enjoying the new deco. More for a sea or waterpark theme next year.

Which recipe are you on now? cuz so far, the side goal usually starts the moment you unlock the second recipe on the second appliance..and then they make us serve a hundred dishes for like 7 days. lol

There is a side goal with the whale fountain for the prize. It appears after completing the 1st recipe on the second appliance. It's like the last one where you have to cook items on the grill, stove and oven.

The whale fountain is gorgeous. Glad to know that it's a goal prize. Do you know what are the recipes to cook for the first step? I hope the side goal is more reasonable than the BS one.. it's annoying that it launches on the unlocking of the second recipe and still have the countdown together with the main goal.

Seems you and I are in the same boat, I'm also on the 2nd recipe in the first appliance, about to start the 3rd one. I can't wait to get that whale fountain I noticed it immediately while looking for the new prizes.

It looks like it's the exact same recipes and quantity of them as the last one, someone posted the pics somewhere. I can deal with that, I wasn't too thrilled about the hot chocolate and banana bread, if it was less quantities then it might not have been so bad, luckily I'm on my last 5 and should finish tonight though.

I finished the side goal but the whale fountain did not unlock. I sent a ticket to storm 8 who responded that they had limited support services for Restaurant Story and would not be able to respond to individual requests. They then closed my ticket.
I finished side goal too but the Whale Fountain is still locked. Can one of the moderators or Storm8 staff check on this for us please?!?!

Porpoise Juggling isn't main prize, it's just new decor that was released and was required to buy for goal step. Penguin Slide is main goal prize. Which I think is small for a final prize, but I still like it though. Goes well with all new goal stuff, and it's for coins if you want to buy more :D

The issue of Whale Fountain still locked despite completing the side goals was reported yesterday. Unfortunately due to current long weekend in US, the team will look into and fix this after the weekend. They may not be able to get it out to us until Tuesday. They send their apologies for this. It's called whale watching...part 1 is 5 berry pies, 5 grilled cheese and 5 cheeseburgers...part 2 which I'm almost done with is 10 macaroni & cheese, 10 grilled salmon and 10 chicken pot pies...I'm almost sure it'll be a part 3...will keep you updated.

That whale fountain is gorgeousss~~ But I'm planning to redecorate and kinda bored with my current summer theme already, so it'll just have to wait when I expand a little more otherwise like Jojo had said, it'll overwhelm my restaurant.
And that penguin slide is tiny for a final goal prize. I actually thought it would be the second last prize, but at least they're cute!

The side goal prizes are one per player you can't buy more unfortunately. However, being that the fountain is so big idk why you'd need more than one lol

Storm8, can you please extend this goal? I am in Florida and did not have power or internet connection for more than 3 days now. I was using my cell data to quickly go in and out of the games. I am almost done with the goal, but I am afraid, I will not be able to finish within the next 4 hours. At least, can we get an extension by reset time, i.e. 3am est! Thanks!

The prices for the main goal and side goal were beautiful. The parts and requests we need to get from neighbours are still way too many, but over all it was a nice goal.

That last side step with all the 1-hour recipes was ****er, but I liked the prizes so much I made sure to complete it in all 3 of my restaurants! Great goal, s8!

I liked this goal. The prices for some of the things we needed to buy were a little pricey but I made it work. A couple of the recipe times were kind of long for my taste but people have requested longer cook times so I guess it's good Storm8 is paying attention somewhat to what's being requested. The recipes for the side goal were fine and I loved the whale fountain, kind of big but very pretty. The goal duration itself was fine, overall I liked the goal. And I will be putting this at the end of every poll response...........
PLEASEEEEE do not give us recycled goals for the holiday goals. If you do anything other than something new please unlock old holiday goals, the exact same ones.

I really liked and enjoyed these goals - main and side. Prizes, wallpaper, decor, furniture are all really pretty. Love the recipes from the second appliance.
The duration of the goals were fine for me for this one cuz the side goal was attainable. It'll be really appreciated if they could launch the side goal at the end of the main goal and have separate countdowns. Or launch both at the same time. That'll be great too. Cuz other than the theme, they weren't related to each other so why have same countdown, right? ^^

I agree with Jojo to rerelease the really old holiday goals as they were but as a side goal so that the players who didn't get the chance to participate before, will be able to get them and with the same effort put in. Please? :D
I liked the Whale Watching side goal prize but didn't enjoy the Marine Life (main goal), as like always the duration was short for me had to hassle.
