Thanks for starting the thread and keeping it updated Natasha :)

First impressions, now that I've had a chance to look at it clearly: I'm happy that we're finally getting some original content, with the wallpaper, flooring, and recipes (assuming the second appliance gives us original recipes as well, and also assuming that the wallpaper and flooring haven't been copied over from Fashion Story or something). It also looks like the City Bonfire prize might be new, which is also nice.

I really like the wallpaper, which looks to me like a two-for-one window setting without the added expense of having to buy a wall decoration. It also looks like it could "blend" with a darker wallpaper to give the illusion of spaced-out windows in a bakery wall, and I like that versatility.

But good grief, is this "city theme" incohesive. A pink palm tree, a bonfire, a TV screen, and an "urban date" that's a rehash of the Cabana Lounge from Restaurant Story? If it were rebranded as "LA goals" or something I could see some of it coming together, but really, nothing about the prizes or recipes screams "urban" or "city". And the inclusion of the TV makes absolutely no sense for this particular set of goals. I really hope we get back to getting original floor decorations soon, because this is getting sad :(

That said, this goal set (if nothing else but the wallpaper alone) has finally given me some inspiration after a long recycled-content dry spell, and I'm really happy to see that the first recipe right off the bat is a longer-duration one :) I'm admittedly doing this one for the recipes more than anything else right now, but I hope that will change with future goals.

Agree - really wish they'd return to 30 day goals; these short ones are just too stressful for me. Don't think I'm going to bother doing them anymore, which is a pity as I've completed every goal since I started playing in 2014.

I like the urban date. My biggest thing with recycling is the appliances and recipes since those are new I don't mind the recycled prizes at all, I don't have them anywhere and since Fashion Story has been forgotten about it seems I don't play it any more but I do think the bonfire is from there.

This goal just started yesterday so unless people spend gems to complete the ovens and recipes or to complete the goal requirements themselves, you're going to have to wait longer for people to get to the next steps since the recipe is a 5 hr one and there's a limit to how many parts you can get from your friends as gifts and requests.

The wallpaper is beautiful! I'm definitely using it for my next remodel (I had fall theme in mind, but for the sake of this wallpaper, I will do a modern city theme :o)

The only recipe that's the same is the chocolate is the brownie dough, the other two are new :)

Me too despite starting this the day it was released. I build 4-6 appliances but I'm struggling after days to build the 3rd one. And yes, time is ticking.... Ovens look nice though.

Yikes...side goals don't open until we're on 2nd recipe of 2nd appliance, and they require 40 each of 2 16-hour recipes? Oh boy.

Ok love the upcoming side goal.
Prize looks nice.
My only drawbacks are adding additional counters to crowd up bakery with old recipes.
I was actually trying to knock down counters, not add.
The last 2 recipes for side goal are 16 hours long,
and we have to serve 40.
So someone with only 4 appliances, it will take 10 days to accomplish.
Solution spend more money buy more unwanted appliances so
you can serve up old recipes in a shorter time.

Maybe skipping this, missing on prize would be the ok with me.
Seriously thinking of dropping my final two S8 games.
More of a chore lately than being enjoyable. Not fair to everyone either.

Well, with 12 ovens for the side goal (assuming you use 6 for the main goal) it takes around 5 days to complete the side goal.
That's challenging but not impossible, at least for Lv99 players.
For newer players it's often a struggle no matter how easy the goal is... hence the strategy to level up as quickly as possible.

The real challenge is to unlock the 2nd recipe of the 2nd goal oven as quickly as possible I think.
I used to start recipes of a new goal oven only when I've built 6.
But with the side goal I have to start when 3 are built.

Love the breakfast buffet though - having missed it last time it was offered - determined to finish the side goal!

I have been thinking about this for a long time now, but with the new goals today, before a new month has even started, I decided to come to the forums and say something.

There have been way too many goals lately and way too many new appliances!!! Both in Bakery Story and in Restaurant Story. I can hardly keep up, I don't have any time to recover and finish building one set of appliances before another set comes out. It's just too much too fast!

I know some people would say then just don't play, but I still enjoy these games and I don't like missing out on any events. I just want them to slow down some! Maybe make a new set of goals every other month, or every 6 weeks, not every 2-3 weeks. It's just too much!!

These games are becoming more and more stressful to play, rather than relaxing. I used to play them to have fun and relax, now it's like a second job. Dragon story is getting pretty bad wit the intensity of all the new goals, events and the weekly point count.

I have already stopped playing several of the S8 games, just because there's not enough time in the day for me to play them all. I still play six of them daily and it feels so hectic that it's actually stressing me out.

Please slow down the pace some, so the games become more enjoyable once again.

It won't be easy that's a given, but it is doable. My sons account doesn't have enough slots open yet to accomplish. My main account has extra slots and some sonic appliances so that will take away from the time crunch. Curious to see if my second account can make it, I'm not super diligent on that account, will have to pay attention to it for sure.

If I throw those ovens in storage & buy more ovens and mixers,
the side goal becomes more reachable.

So ideally, you should put all the new appliances in storage,
and beef up on unwanted basic appliances to complete side goal.

Actually, in the past, when an appliance required 8 oven elements and 8 other parts, most of the players were done with the goal in less than a week and yes, they did complain about a goal taking a month and that they had nothing to do. But also, remember that aside from monthly goals we had weekly updates that gave us decor items to occupy players while we had to wait for another 3 weeks to get a new goal.

Now, the amount of parts increased and oven element is no longer guaranteed to be one of the required parts, so there is no way to prepare for an upcoming goal. This new change has in fact increased the amount of time players now spend on a goal, but did not make the play more interesting. In my opinion, collecting so many parts to build an appliance is a tideous and boring process, not fun at all! But despite that new obstacle, most of my neighbors still manage to complete a goal within a week.

So, I do not think that with the absence of weekly releases, going back to one month (or even 21 day) goals is a great idea. Instead, I would propose to reduce the amount of parts required to build any appliance to 16, just the way it was before. Also, I think, it would be a great idea to re-release old goals for the newer players rather than recycling appliances, recipes and decor between the two games.

I've finished the goal, but it was a lot of cooking on a lot of ovens, for sure. I don't know about my neighbors - I don't pay attention to who finishes when - but I manage to get through these just fine. However, I have good neighbors! They send me goal parts during goals. And I have a bunch of coins.

The problem is newbies. There is no way they can do these goals - they don't have the good neighbors or the coins - so they'll give up and quit. We need the newbies to play if Storm 8 is going to stay in business. The newbies need more time and/or fewer parts.

I miss the days of the Oven Element.

The final prize is great! Cute and very done. It's a little bigger than I have room for right now, but I'll get it out eventually, for sure!!! This goal was a long slog, but that prize was worth it.

I don't think buying 10-12 basic ovens is a bad investment (around 60k coins in total?) particularly if you're not giving up on the game soon - you may soon find yourself baking a lot of red velvet cakes after playing for, say, 2 years.
And given the number of recipes in the basic oven and the efficiency to master them after buying 10-12 of them, I think it's a bit unfair to say it's "just to complete a goal"

Must say I love the idea of having side goals and the prizes they offer - and hope that they'll be offered going forward!

Clicking on the hot chocolate in your storage merely put them on the food counter, they won't count. The goal requires you to serve them from the appliances. Try buying more appliances to finish the goals faster, the drink makers come ready build upon purchase.

I just started part 3 tonight and I calculated that if I put out 6 of each machine and cook both the banana bread & hot chocolate at the same time, I'll make 12 of each every 32 hours... and I'll have an extra day of time leftover (already taking into account time for any late collections) so it's doable and u don't have to use the max amount of ovens unless you can't start within the next 24 hours. With that said, I do agree it will be challenging to complete for newer players but not impossible (if they have at least 20 reliable neighbors). I think that mostly players who don't visit the forum are the ones that are in for a surprise when they realize that there's another mini goal within the goal that they may not have prepared for... Because I do see a lot of neighbors waiting to complete at least 6 of each oven before they even begin baking and that's probably a mistake this time around imo. I don't think more than 3 of each appliance is necessary... As the rest will probably have to go into inventory anyways once players get to part 3 of the goal.
As for the goal prizes, they weren't my cup of tea this time around but I'm sure I'll find some way to use them in the future. I think my favorite part is definitely the bubble drink maker and the wallpaper

It's all about time management. I am finished with the main goal and am making my last 5 banana bread for the side goal. I have 3-4 appliances for the main goal and basic ovens for the side goal. Considering how long the hot chocolate and banana bread take it also shouldn't be a problem for those who work. Unless each batch finishes at an awkward time.

Prize looks nice.
My only drawbacks are adding additional counters to crowd up bakery with old recipes.
I was actually trying to knock down counters, not add.
The last 2 recipes for side goal are 16 hours long,
and we have to serve 40.
So someone with only 4 appliances, it will take 10 days to accomplish.
Solution spend more money buy more unwanted appliances so
you can serve up old recipes in a shorter time.

Maybe skipping this, missing on prize would be the ok with me.
Seriously thinking of dropping my final two S8 games.
More of a chore lately than being enjoyable. Not fair to everyone either.

I totally agree with bakery and restaurant being more of a chore lately than fun. I've just deleted two more S8 games last week, simply because I can't keep up with all the chores!! There's too much going on ALL THE TIME that it's barely even fun anymore. This new set of goals having to serve 80 (!!!!!) old recipes that most people have already mastered years ago that are 16 hours each make me want to cry. I don't know if I can finish this in time. I also have to put away all of my new appliances that I still need to build and still need to make a lot more progress before I can master these new appliances and that's a waste of time, because before we know it, we get slammed with another set of new appliances to build master and even more goals. I don't like being behind on things and anymore it feels like I am always behind in these games. So frustrated :(:confused: Please slow things down, slow down the pace and let us enjoy these games, not just rush through everything that we don't get to sit back and enjoy all of our hard labor you put us through anymore.

I voted but I would like to add a comment. I think that the goal duration is too short and we are depending on neighbours for the way too many parts and requests and that makes me dislike the goal. I think most of the prices were nice though and if there wouldn't be so much time pressure, I would enjoy it a lot more. The way it is now it feels like I have to do chores. The time you have for side goals depends on how fast you are with the main goal and this time it was almost impossible to complete it. Thank you for the goals though and although I tell what I don't like about the goals, I appreciate all the work you put in it.

Only complaint is the side goal is WAY OUT OF PROPORTION:confused:

I liked the goal length. I like having a challenge and randomly thinking during the day, "Oh ya! I have to check my bakery" because sometimes I don't hear my notifications or have my phone next to me. I think having a side goal in the middle of the regular goal is fine because new players or those who don't have much time can focus on one goal and those who have been playing for a while can focus on two. New players are always at a disadvantage no matter what game you play. I don't think it should be made so fair so that these goals can be achievable easily to new players because then that ruins the fun for long time players.

Thank you, finally someone said it. I get the new players keep the game going and all but when I start a new game I don't go in expecting to have access to things that long time players did. DS for example I had to wait till I was level 32 to be able to participate in the tournaments. Did it bum me out? Yea, but it gave me something to look forward to and work towards and made me want to level up faster.

They should do on BS what they do in castle story. They have 2 levels for goals. The higher level players have a lot more to do than lower level players. They could easily do that for goals here. If higher level have to do 15 of each recipe, then they could make it so lower level players have to make 10 of each. That's just an example. I'm sure there's other things they could do to help the lower level players. I just feel sorry for them and 15 days isn't enough when you only have a few ovens. They struggle with the goals and they have no chance to do the side goals. As everyone says, we need to keep them. Not chase them away.

no events are usually coming back, sorry :(

there was couple of times when old halloween & xmas goals had been relisted, but that was rather an exclusion from how it usually works.
