The info didn't say it isn't. So yeh I think it is breedable. Indeed it is a new one. Don't think it's a hard one because it has a "common" rarity

Probably Schedule A or B. I wouldn't bother using food on a common animal until you need it to breed for a quest.

HEADS UP! If you're doing SB ch 6 act 2 HATCH A COMMON HOTTWEILER so if you breed it, don't hatch until prompted or you'll have to get it again! Also you'll have to breed it to Firewolf in ch ch 7 act 3

Wow, thanks for the heads up, both of you :) I got a 6 hour breeding time so I think I got it and I'll wait to hatch it :)

Dang I have it breeding now. Got it on 1st try. Problem is I have to breed and hatch before I get to that point. What are the chances I will get it when I need it lol.

You're good, Cranlink. You just have to hatch it in Chapter 6, not breed it. So once the egg is in the nest be careful not to hatch it until the SB asks you to.

Edit - Sorry, I just realized that maybe you only have one nest so you can't leave it sitting. It's times like this that a second nest comes in handy.

Yeah I only have 1 nest. My next goal is to get another one. If all else fails I will have to plead with fiance to let me buy some gems to skip the hatching part. Anyways still happy to have a new one.

I got a pop up today that it is a limited animal, so I guess it isn't permanent. I am getting one with Persian leopard and Starmadillo. Now I just have to hope I don't accidentally hatch it early. Oh my gosh!

Ok, so are we positive that we can put the Hottweiler on the nest early and just not hatch it until it says to do so? We are positive that transferring from the breeding den to the nest will not count against us????

Got it in my nest, waiting for chapter 6 :) I would go ahead and hatch it but I'm afraid I won't be able to breed another one!

I can't imagine that it would be different than it has been. The Chapter 6 quest is to HATCH it, not breed it, so it's okay to be ready in the nest, just be careful to not accidentally click on it and hatch it early (I've done that).
Chapter 7 is to BREED Hottweiler with Firewolf, so for that quest you have to wait to put them in the breeding den until it calls for it.

I just bred Hottweiler with Infernowl (E/F, L11) and Rampage (E/F, L15). Hope this helps.

I bred one with the Fairy Ferret and Persian Leopard, then I bred another with the Persian Leopard and Stargazer. The second one will sit on the nest till the SB needs it to hatch. Wasn't sure if that would count, but other posts convinced me to leave it. Thanks to torfhoeken3 and GreytMom.

Wouldn't it be awesome if Storm8 used plain, understandable English words that meant the same to everyone? I guess that is too much to ask. I agree: hatching should be when you actually *hatch* the egg.

I always thought so, too, but I noticed for the first time during the Leo goal line that when it said to *hatch* when I moved it (can't remember which animal) from the den to the nest the task completed. I guess in this case it wouldn't matter, because if the task doesn't complete when we put the egg in the nest then we just leave it there to hatch. Granted, it would then tie up the nest for however many hours, but there's nothing to lose. Not like when we ave an egg hanging out in a nest waiting for hatching to be required & accidentally hit the check mark.

I will confirm this tomorrow morning (GMT UK) as opinion is so divided. I have one ready on the nest and one in the breeding den. I will release the breeding den first to see if that registers with the SB. Then we will know for sure!
PS. I also have one in the Evo!

Grr, so I had the hotweiller, but then in a stupid automatism i took it off the nest..
now its armordillo over and over again.
I've deleted the dog, hopefully get it again before part 6 of sb

I just started SB ch 4 so I shouldn't start to breed for Hottweiler yet, or should I start? I only have one hatching station, can't afford another one

No. You have to breed with a Fairy Ferret and also hatch an earth animal before you can hatch a Hottweiler, so you'll need your breeding den & nest open for those Chapters first. Breed your FF with Rock Rhino so that you can possibly get the earth animal that needs to be hatched in Chapter 5.

@AppieP wow thanks, he's really cool! I thought he was just gonna look like a hot dog or terrorier when he grew up! They should really show an animal's adult form in the shop, especially when the adult form is so different/cool. I would have tried a lot harder from the get go. I never understood why they only show the baby form in the shop...I know they're adorbs as babies, but in most cases, it's the least representational form of the animal.

I've been failing at breeding the hottweiler just like I've failed at every quest required breeding. Please increase the rate or this game all comes down to luck, not strategy. If I want to lose at luck I'd go to a casino. I've been trying since it was first announced here we needed one. At an average of 2 fails a day I am now less than .1 chance - not good enough.

I can now confirm this. My wife released hers from the breeding den and nothing happened. She paid 6 gems to hatch it and that was recognised. My own surprised me because the SB accepted the one I had raised to lvl 4 before I could release the others. I think this has changed from previous. Anyway, den to nest is breeding and nest to habitat is hatching.

Yes it is a cutie. You know on epic form it looks a lot like Lava Leopard on epic form. I have both of them next to each other.

The pumace was more important to me than this so decided to not try for this till I got the pumace. I now have it (it's adorable and I called her Glitter lol) so now I'm trying for this and got a 13 then 12 hour fail lol

@silverrain (as an aside to our convo in the SB thread) this is probably coincidence, but I always seem to breed the animal i need when I use 1 rare/super rare + 1 of the basic commons (pyro pony, frostfang, rock rhino, etc). For hottweiler I was originally using pyro pony & rock rhino and failed 4x, but as soon as I switched it up to Rampage & Rock Rhino I got him.

I seem to go through spells of good and bad breeding luck. I'm happy with the pumace so I'm not gonna kick up a fuss but it would be annoying to not get further in the storybook. That would make it the first that I haven't completed. But hey, it's not come to that yet

Funny to see how it goes. I know not for you it isn't. I got him at my first try, and takes my forever to get the Pumaze.

Me to. My second account got it ok, so just waiting on this one catching up lol. Cos I waited for auto start, this is today's chapter so it's not drastic. Iv still got time. Will keep u all posted.

Just a reminder to evolve your Hottweiler up to L4 asap after chap 6 because you're gonna have to breed him with firewolf in ch 7. I got behind and did ch. 6 & 7 almost back to back and got stalled on ch 7 because my hottweiler was still a baby.

Yes, I'm on the breed a hotwiller step so there's been no progression for me since yesterday. So that's two days with no progress.

I'm wondering, will this animal be available for the rest of time or will it be unavailable at one point? I thouhgt it vanished along with the Storybook so I was suprised whe I bred it.
