I underlined and bolded the animals we need to breed or hatch or any specific acts that might hold us up.
The animals you need are:
-Fairy Ferret (3hrs)
-Hottweiler (6hrs)
-Turtisle (6hrs)
-Hedgehog (14hrs)

Also, would anyone ahead, please share the stories? They are very interesting!

Chapter 1 of 10
Firewolf loved the summers in the forest, especially the hot sunny days. "The warmer, the better," was Firewolf's motto. Yet none of Firewolf's friends seemed to be as fond of the heat as him.

Firewolf lived in a grove of Flame Trees, whose gently glowing trees radiated warmth. A small creek in the grove gave the trees water and kept their heat in check. Firewolf loved his home, but he couldn't convince any of his more flowery Forest friends to visit. " I love to be warm and toasty, but I hate being lonely!" Firewolf thought to himself.

Firewolf knew he wasn't supposed to plant Flame Trees without water nearby, but he really wanted to show his friends how great they were. After some deliberation, Firewolf decided it should be fine just this once. "What's the worst that could happen?" He thought. He gathered as many Flame Tree seeds as he could carry, and headed out into the forest.

I know that no offense was made, but the name of this event is in very poor taste. A forest fire is never good, and now with so many people in so many States losing homes, lives, cattle, etc, it is just really unfortunate.

I see that after you've gotten the Blossom Buck and the Shrubunny you can breed them to get the Peruvian Llama. That Llama is actually from a previous Storybook, I already have it. I kinda wished it was a new animal but the Llama is really nice so hopefully this way a lot of people will be able to get it.

It works out nice that the Firewolf evolve time is 7 hours and we only need 6 peonies for Chapter 3. Usually that doesn't happen. We can't use him for Chapter 5 though since that chapter is 8 peonies.

When the story book asks you to "hatch" an animal, do you have to hatch it at the required stage or can you hatch it ahead of time and get the auto complete like when you level up an animal ahead of time? Thanks in advance everyone.

I was asking my self the same question. I believe it is for you more difficult I think, because you're almost at max on habitats and expansion right? I have completed chapter 1 and 2 already, so I have the Firewolf, don't know if I continue. Don't like the rest of the creatures as well.

I'm maxed out on expansions and wld have to sell a habitat if I wanted the new one. I'm not sure if I like the new habitat tho. So dnt think I'll bother with that. I just realized that for each event, including limited animal breeds, you basically need 2 new expansions/habitats to house all the new animals. That's not a problem at lower levels because you're constantly expanding anyway and it doesn't cost a lot of runes, but I'm getting to the point where I'm starting to need a lot more runes and I get why it's such a dilemma for those at higher levels everytime a new event comes out.

Evolution gives 1 peony blossom per hour, and Firewolf is only 7 hours, so you do need more.

I just realized that for each event, including limited animal breeds, you basically need 2 new expansions/habitats to house all the new animals. That's not a problem at lower levels because you're constantly expanding anyway and it doesn't cost a lot of runes, but I'm getting to the point where I'm starting to need a lot more runes and I get why it's such a dilemma for those at higher levels everytime a new event comes out.

My forest is full, I can no longer expand as I've "expanded everywhere that is safe to explore"
I was needing 80 runes at a time to expand which isn't actually to bad as I get going lol!
So I'm on the fence with the event. If I can't expand then soon all my habitats will b full and I won't b able to fit new ones

Holy Moly! we need around 140,000 food, maybe even more!I know, it seems planting and harvesting is a 24/7 job. You need to go into a new event with about 250k food supply to be comfortable. Not always easy to do but in order to finish one event and go directly into another one that requires a lot of food it helps. Going from a LB to a SB within minutes is rough. I find I use food more than gems during a LB and a SB as well.

You can plant anything, but you get 1.5 Flame Tree Leaves for every hour of planting. Are you planting at least 1 hour crops? If you're planting 30 sec or 3 min crops, it may take a while to get a leaf.

no problem. I always set an alarm and start planting 5 to 8 hrs ahead so they're ready to go when the next act starts. Don't actually harvest them until after the act pops up though or you won't get credit!

I think I might aim for the Blossom Buck too, He attracted my attention more since I love deer and equines.

Lol thanks for the tip, but I already do that XD Charm Cherries are so helpful and efficient. I also use it as an alarm for the tournaments. Harvest Charm cherries, do the tournament, then harvest. It's very time efficient rather than setting an alarm physically or mentally ( I know a person that knows how long an hour is without looking at a clock, but he isn't very accurate haha).

No every 24 hours a chapter will unlock. If you are 24 hours behind, you can immediately play the next chapter. So no need to worry.

If you took it off the nest already, then yes, you'll have to breed another one and keep in on the nest until Ch 6, Act 2 pops up.

I am new to the forum and fairly new to the game. One thing I absolutely HATE about this game is the programmed rate at which you can hatch a required quest animal. Yes I know some can breed a hottweiler first time. It's called an outlier. Based on my records, I'm at less than about 5 percent of breeding what I need for this game and for dragon story too. Too bad - but it makes me want to quit. I can strategize all I want, but if I keep failing at breeding the entire game is a fail.

So sorry if I bum steered anyone! As phoenix said earlier, I wish they would use consistent language for these tasks. Normally if it says to "hatch" something, then you have to keep it on the nest until you get to the goal.

You may have done this but ck the storybook mission and make sure it didn't revert back to complete the last one again, it sometimes does that. If that's done and you restarted contact support :(

Blossom buck is water and leaf. Yes, you can hatch it anytime and get it evolving for the next steps and still get credit.

Great to hear that you got it. I would recommend that players not to leave game running in the background and to start it fresh before doing important activities to avoid rollbacks.

Three more fails for hottweiler so I'm losing another one due to really poor programmed breeding chances of the required animal. I am beginning to believe it is impossible to win these quests without paying money. So sad because otherwise I like this game. For my next and last quest that comes up I will fully track all failed breeding and if it is less than 10% again I quit because that is a scam.

Just speaking for myself I think these Story Books are the very best value for players. What other game do u play whereu get a minimum of 3 new animals every S.B. With this one we get a 4th animal with a 5th bonus one at the end if u choose to breed for it. Then u also get ruines and apples to help the players advance. I guess the only down side is we need to partake in the tourney to finish the S.B. Myself , I don't mind I prefer tourneys. Also the decorations are neet but I haven't any room for them having about 80 animals in storage at any one time. Expanding and placing new habitats are to few and far in between to place them. Any way thanks to all at S8 HQ ground zero for fun!

Three more fails for hottweiler so I'm losing another one due to really poor programmed breeding chances of the required animal. I am beginning to believe it is impossible to win these quests without paying money. So sad because otherwise I like this game. For my next and last quest that comes up I will fully track all failed breeding and if it is less than 10% again I quit because that is a scam.

I don't think I've ever NOT finished a SB. I only remember using gems to skip Dream Bat breeding & to finish the last Chapter of the one in order to get Grand Unicom. I did get an extra nest, too (totally worth it & certainly helps with SB's). I'm very diligent about real cash spending.
There have been times when I know I won't be able to get on often and had to plan really well. I miss Clark_Wayne's tips though, they really helped.

I am working in chapter 9 of act 2 now, it asks me to start breeding FireWolf with a Bamboon, not Turtisle.

So sorry you are having such difficulties breeding a Hottweiler. I bred it with Infernowl (E/F, L11) and Rampage (E/F, L15). Also, try looking under the "Fantasy Forest|Discussions" then "Hotweiller". Other people posted what animals they used. Hoping you get one soon!

you can totally do it! just start trying for your bamboon now and in the meantime make sure you have everything else ready for the last chapter. You still have 44 hours...I really think you can do it!

Just speaking for myself I think these Story Books are the very best value for players. What other game do u play whereu get a minimum of 3 new animals every S.B. With this one we get a 4th animal with a 5th bonus one at the end if u choose to breed for it. Then u also get ruines and apples to help the players advance. I guess the only down side is we need to partake in the tourney to finish the S.B. Myself , I don't mind I prefer tourneys. Also the decorations are neet but I haven't any room for them having about 80 animals in storage at any one time. Expanding and placing new habitats are to few and far in between to place them. Any way thanks to all at S8 HQ ground zero for fun!

If you are a high level player, be sure to finish round 30 of tournament to get your 5th Seed. Step 5 of day 10 for high levels is to collect 5th seed from tournament.

Can anyone tell me what level the cut off is for lower and higher levels for Storybook? I've read some write L40 and another time I think I read L30. Besides breeding different animals what are some of the other differences if there is any? Is there also differences in World Events as well as LB? It might clear up some of the confusions I'm seeing.

I got my bamboon from breeding Plantler and Rock Rhino. You may try it but not guarantee. Good luck!

He passed Chapter 10 of act 2 with only raising the Blossom Buck to level 12,
act 4 asks to mine 3 toadstools, and
act 5 don't know ask how many seeds from tournament, however, he is in the battle 29 of 48, and doesn't pass the battle 30 of 48.

The higher level players may need more qualifications in this mission as the previous post mentioned.

For a moment it really felt like I was not going to make it but yes! I got the bunny. I ran out of food after feeding Blossom Buck to level 12 but a lot of cherries later managed to reach the missing 13k.

There's no way I'll do the next event, no food and no motivation left. I almost wish I had given up after chapter 9.

So I came here to rant because I fell so behind in the storybook and was sure I wouldn't finish, but I planned etc and although it meant I never stopped, I realised I cld do it! Until the world event started and the mine stopped giving mushrooms, I came here to have a moan and saw a post that said they weren't getting theirs but then they did. So I thought ok I'll keep trying. Well, 15 bombs didn't give me enough mushrooms. So it's story book over. I'm not spending 60 gens for an animal i dont like. I worked for it because I dnt like to sit events out and as much as I'm annoyed that it's the first story book I haven't been able to complete. It would have probably stayed in storage. Also missed the habitat as well, wen I went into get it, it was gone. But that's ok, I didn't particularly like that either, but I like event animals to b stored together in their event habitats. Anyway, sorry, rant over.

I've used 18 bombs thus far and only received 4 mushrooms. It's kind of ridiculous at this point, I've gotten loads of food and starfish so I guess that's a plus but I hate not finishing things. Hoping the power of the post pulls through for me and gives me that one measly mushroom (before the SB ends in 7 hours) I need to continue!


EDIT: Power of the post prevailed and on my last bomb (of 3) I got 2 mushrooms and can now move on and finish.

When I mined I would stop getting mushrooms and only get stars. I noticed that if I restarted the game I would get mushrooms again. Maybe coincidence
but it worked every time. If anyone is having trouble see if it works for you.

The 2 toadstools I did manage were the result of 1 mining trip - the other 7 mining trips yielded ZERO toadstools!!! ... VERY aggravating folks!!!

I completed this and the message came up saying I got the world traveler.

However even after closing my game properly and reopening it several times the world traveller is no where to be seen

There's a couple of eggs on nests but pretty sure they were already there and I cannot find a picture or details of the world traveller or any reference to this task after searching.

Check again, go to the animals section and look for the Peruvian Llama there. Otherwise, restart your game. Delete the game, then install it again.

The storybook has already ended since the beginning of the Forest Party so Blossom Buck is unavailable.

Only liked the Blossom Buck, wanted the ultra rare bunny for leaderboard, but forgot about the hedgehog wich didnt made me pass through chapter 8.2
I would prefer new trees and decoration tiles that fit more realisticly like the basic tiles.

Loved the fire wolf and hottweiler. Hottweiler is my fave animal in a long time.

Good on event although I was lucky to breed the animals needed and already had a hedgehog. If I hadn't I wouldn't have liked it as it's near impossible to breed when needed.

I didn't finish but I'd say I'm neutral. I like the Hottweiler but wasn't really "wowed" by any of the animals. I didn't like the Shrubunny enough to feed the Blossom Buck to level 14. Would rather save my food for an animal I like more.

I didn't finish. That's never happened to me before. Although I must admit, I didn't like the final prize so I'm not to bothered but I wld have liked to have finished the event.

I couldn't get 5 tokens from the mine with 15 bombs
