You forgot the real nasty ones Pegasus 26 hours and Elder 27, Islands are good news compared to the the others I have just mentioned.

I don't have Elder yet so that I can accept! Just please no Islands, I hate to sell a dragon from the nest. They're not worth it to feed and evolve just for a small gem..

I think you can skip it's tasks in the Tales for 112 bars of Gold. Too bad we can't breed it in advance. I'm curious if it "hatches" on removal from the Roost or cracking off the Nest, for the sake of the Story. I'll post this over there, also, since it seems to be a mixed topic this week.

Best way to breed it?

I'd recommend either Stone and water OR metal and forest. Both have 19 options of what you get. Versus using island and light has 20 options. Metal and forest have a possibility of Armor dragon at 17 hours. Stone and water have Turquoise dragon at 20 hours as a possibility. So depending on your preference (i.e. Which dragons you might be missing), I'd use metal and forest.

Adding a multi common just means they are making the game more difficult breeding wise. As if it isnt so hard anyway with all the added dragons over the last year.

I do not like commons and this one is starting a new trend I know will continue.

I fully agree with you ! I tried breeding almost 30 times ( speed breeding ) and got Many Islands , Fuzzys, Winters as well as Atlantis, Pegasus, Elder , Serpent etc but no sign of Whiplash --- This is really more rare than Ultrarare !! But I am not going to spend Gold to buy it or spend Gold to skip -- I won't play Tales further if I don't get it in normal breeding !

Earth X Hammerhead just gave me 8 hrs. Fingers crossed. Already used up my den boosts and gold moving a couple Islands and Gorgeouses through the den and nest so can't do anything but wait.

Thought I wouldn't mind an Elder or a Lorekeper fail, as I never was able to breed either of them. I would have even liked a Fuzzy fail, as I needed one for Bingo.Tried for Whiplash for the first time (Raindance + Light) - Winter. Raindance + Light again - and there it is, my Whiplash!

So this never happens for me. Last event, I missed out because I couldn't breed the dragon! But first try with metal and forest (both level 10) and I got an 8 hour. So I used the last of my gold and sped it up. It is whiplash!

Yay, my 8hr. Earth X Hammerhead result was a Whiplash.
I parked the nest over in a vacant corner so I don't accidentially hatch it before it is needed.

Working on breeding a Mossrock now. Have wanted him forever, but am usually too busy trying to breed other dragons to focus on him.

Four tries with Winter & Forest....
1) Serpent - Rare
2) Disco - Rare
3) Elder (ugh) - Super Rare
4) Hot Chocolate - Rare
5) Atlantis - Super Rare

So 4 possible commons for Winter & Forest and after 5 tries I have 3 rares and 2 super rares. I know this is way too small a sample....but from other comments I cannot shake the idea that breeding is rigged.

I feel like they picked this color combo & 8 hr breeding time (since 3 other dragons have the same breeding time) on purpose... they could've picked something like 9 hrs or 7 hrs....

Same here. I activated den and both of them are keep getting long fail or 8 hours turned out to bw fuzzy... now i have elder and waverider..... i may have to givw up the tale

Still failing on my sons account - the 14 hour was an atlantis (he did have so woo hoo, I guess), then fuzzy, another fuzzy and now something really long again.

I don't mind trying hard for a dragon - but to require a 3 combo "common" with such long hour fails tied into a Dragon Tales in addition to all the food is just ridiculous!

Boooooo😡 I keep getting fails... Fuzzy, and a few Elders. I missed out on the other Tales when we had to breed an Awoken and bred everything but that. Why add another color to make a common more complicated to get? I'm getting so frustrated with the Tales and World Events becoming impossible to complete without spending gold. They're making the game not as fun for me. Anyway, glad I delayed starting so I can hopefully breed Whiplash by the time I get to that chapter.

Edited: Once I got to Chapter 4 Act 3, breed w/an Island Dragon, I put together Island x Light & got it. Finally!

It was a Whiplash. :) Plus had to breed Island with something as part of the Tales and used Brightsteel again and got another 8 hour timer. Could be that again. So Brightsteel seems to work well if you are trying for Whiplash.

Well I've managed to get 2 "Super Rare" Hippogryphs, which I already had 2 of anyway. This blows. Oh, and now a SR Winter Rose, which I also have 2 of, and I got a SR Atlantis, which I already had 2 of. It seems like once you get your first SR of a certain type, they just keep coming instead of the common ones I need. This gives me some good fodder for trading, but it also seems that once I craft a gemstone type dragon, I also breed one soon after. I have 2 Gemstone, 2 Sapphire, 2 Ruby, and 2 Emerald. Crafted 1 of each and bred one of each. So far only 1 Topaz, though.

Grrrr!!! Tried since the tales stated to get a whiplash and ALL I keep getting is 20+ hours dragons. 4 pegasus or elder in a row! Insane! Tried stone+hammerhead, regrowth+diamond, island+light, blue moon+queztal, and another white/blue+dawntree
What combo has been the one that has been most effective? I'm draining my bingo boosts, any help is welcome and appreciated!!!

Ridiculous... Not 1 whiplash with over a week of breeding straight! And on top of that I'm missing it on the free boosting weekend, and drained my all my breeding boosts. Had to let out my frustrations!
