No skill points for rank 2 ship missions?

I'm not recieving any skill points for completing rank 2 ship missions. Is this a bug or intentional.

You don't get skill points for the rank 2 missions on any tab, just the rank 1s. Completing all the rank 2's gives you an item at the end.

Correct and to add on - Supervolcano has posted the information as to what you get for Rank 1 and 2 of the quest tabs. You can see it here:
