release a pet

I thought at level 40 you were able to release a pet to the wild. I am trying to make a "no win" one pet atm. When am I able to release my pets?

Go to the bottom of the screen in pet tabs

Also, your pet has to be generating upkeep.
So if your pets level is below 20 you can not release it, you have to train it first.

And one more tip: If you have only one pet you can not release it.
To be able to release it, you have to catch a second pet, release your starter pet then you will immediately catch your starter pet at level 1. Then release your other pets.

I am now level 170 with my iOS device and had option to release pets to the wild for years.

However, with my Android account, I reached level 31 and still can't release? Is there minimal level to release pets? (Yes, I have some pets over 20...)

EDIT: Found in another thread that I need to reach level 40... If that's not the rule, let me know... I'll just level up a bit more.
