Unfortunately, storm8 doesn’t give a rat’s ass whether you decide to stop playing or not. Desert Edition prevented players from purchasing honour points, which is one of their many sources of income. And so these players, yourselves included, would be no big loss to them as you guys never purchased points anyway. As a business, they only care about profit and will always prioritise players who spend money i.e. those that are playing on the sh*tty old version where points purchasing is NOT broken. THAT is why they disabled Desert Edition: to force all of you to migrate over to the old version in the hopes that you will eventually spend your hard earned cash.
Which begs the question, why don’t Storm8 simply fix the Desert Edition? The answer is pretty obvious: they’re a bunch of incompetent and idiotic monkeys who clearly have absolutely no advanced programming skills. The current theory is that they hired contractors to develop the Desert Edition and once it was complete, they got rid of them due to the high costs. It wasn’t until after they laid them off that they realised it was riddled with horrendous bugs.
The other theory is that it wasn’t contractors but an actual full time employee who was far more experienced in programming than anyone else in the company. But for some odd reason they sacked/made him redundant and now without his superior knowledge of programming, they can’t fix any of the problems that are associated with Desert Edition (glitching included). As a result they pulled it from the market and kept to the old, sluggish, data hungry and inferior version of the game.
So to all those who have reported bugs and have received a numbered ticket but no reply from the actual engineers, now you know why. Depending on the complexity of the reported bug, they may never be able to fix it until they hire someone who is actually qualified to do so. I wouldn’t be surprised if my programming knowledge outweighs all of theirs combined together.
