How do we know if an appliance has locked recipes?

Hi, is there anyway to know before hand if an appliance's recipes are locked before we buy it? Reason for asking is because recently i have bought and built a hot dog stand, only to realised that 2 of the recipes are locked. Thanks!

I think not really, just search the forum for the appliance by name, and if it was originally introduced as part of a goal, then it may have locked recipes. That's a bit annoying to do though.

But I feel you--the first thing I ever built in this game was the outdoor grill, with its one recipe. Such a let-down!
