    Too many tables

What is with bakeries that have tons of tables and no chairs? It makes for a funny looking bakery.

They probably put them out for their neighbors to leave tips on.

If they just get tips then they can't serve guests and get food points.

People play the game the way they want to play. I personally don't like a bakery full of tables They obviously prefer to play that way though. There's no right way or wrong way to play.
Not accepting new neighbours in bakery story at the moment. Thank you.

    Well said!

Players with several hundreds of neighbours may not have time to keep clearing tables throughout the day, so having lots of tables does help.

They can as long as at least 28(?) of the tables have chairs. Anything over that doesn't matter if it has chairs or not as that is the max number of diners at one time anyway.

If you look at my bakery, I have enough chairs and tables for people to enjoy my food. The rest of the tables are out for decorations and they're not used for any other purpose. I still sell well without a problem(:

At one time I wanted lots of tips but did not want too many chairs spread out (takes customers too long to sit eat and leave) so I used some of the tables as dividers for my different sections.

I have a section of plain white tables in one corner of my bakery without chairs for people to use to tip. I do that because I play on a very small screen and collecting tips from my "active" tables is difficult. For instance, my tables with chairs are usually next to counters, so there is always a risk of accidentally clearing away food! It also looks nicer to me to have separate sections.

(Unfortunately, only one or new of my neighbors tip there though! I keep hoping, but it's ok.)
