Naming your animals

I like renaming animals! I do it if I get a duplicate name or if the given one just doesn't seem to fit the animal. Some of my favorites are....

Ozzy the Bansheep
Tarzan the Chimpala
Snoopy the Eagle Beagle
Hamlet the Frankenswine
Zweigle the Hot Dog (if you're from New York you get it)
Chevy the Land Shark
Jingle the Noelephant
Kooky the Pumpkin Panda

I'm loving all these fun names you all have given your animals!
I just had a moment of inspiration and named my Tubacan Tubadour (from the word troubadour, the title for composers and performers of lyrical poetry in the Middle Ages).

I am super lazy with naming my animals. I only rename them if I really don't like the name they came with or I already have an animal with the same name.

Jackal and Bunni (Jackalopes)

Lavi (Hareon)
Coins (Money Badger)
Krystal (Crystal Unicorn) (Automated name was Pearl but that would be better for a Pearl Peryton)
Flash (Lightning Leopard)
Minja (Ra)
Monsoon (Monsoon Marmot)
Mesa (Ancient Sloth) (automated name was Gaia but I named it after Mesa, the Ancient sloth my Pyro Pony defeated in the Battlegrounds)
Storm (Sea Lion) (wasn't planning on naming it after teamlava... ^_^)
Felix (Fennec Shox) (my friend suggested it)
Fauni (Hummingburn)

-Rubble Rooster = "Mesa" => Candidate name: "Little Red Rooster"
-Pandaffodil = "Synth" => Candidate name: "Po" [the Kung Fu Panda! ]

-Barn Owl => Candidate name: "Boromir" [inside joke referring to our favourite owl at a local owl show, named after LOTR's Boromir]
-Crystal Unicorn => Candidate name: "Princess Celestia" [OMG Ponies!]
-Skeletal Dragon => Candidate name: "Dracaris"
-Vampire Cat => Candidate name: "Chupacabra"
-Onyx Ox => Candidate name: "Balrog"
-Service dogs => Candidate names: Satan, Lucifer and Cerberus [nice names for the hounds of hell]

Unfortunately you are limited to 8 characters. I have a spruce moose named Boromir. I've renamed all of mine except the Egypt pack bc they had good names already and my duplicates which I frequently sell off.

Early on I started naming mine after mathematicians and scientists--this was back when there were only about 40 animals total! I got behind on naming them and now that I have almost 200 I'm struggling. Of course there are plenty of names (especially if I go to Wikipedia), but I want to use names I think of myself.

Some of my favorites:
Crystal Unicorn: Hardy (named for mathematician G. H. Hardy, and for the fact that diamonds are known for their hardness)
Gargolem: Church (for logican Alonzo Church, and because it's the perfect name for a gargoyle)
For the space trio, I was delighted when one of my critters was auto-named DeGrasse (I assume for Neil DeGrasse Tyson, the astronomer), so I decided to stick with that.
Lemercury: Sagan (Carl Sagan)
Caturn: DeGrasse
Plutopus: Sputnik (I liked the default name so much I decided to deviate from my naming rule and keep it)
