Yes, but you can receive coins instead of gold, the reward is random.
Important not to confuse the quest outpost ( dragon returns with something you didn't ask for, but look pleased, he did his best) with the Trading Portal (dragon gone for good, you get gemstones in return that can be used to craft other dragons) Very common mistake to confuse them.
And it can be a big chock!
yes I understand what youre saying..I was talking about the quest outpost. I have traded dragons a few times and know that they are gone forever. thank you for clearing that up for others who may have not known
