Castle Story 4/16/15: Choose your Steed!

Hi everyone,

We're introducing horses to your Kingdom! In order to access today's update, you will need to be level 22+, have the Jousting arena and have the Goal, "The First Match" completed. The first Goal and Goals associated with the tasks from the first goal are timed and will start today at April 16th at 12 PM DST and will end May 4th 12 PM DST.

EDIT: We have updated the game and the goals "Stallion Selection" and "Equine Education" will now have an expiration date. Please be sure to use your Official Horse Deed to craft your Horse before it expires.

Need for Steed Goals

Pre-requisites: Level 22+, have the Jousting arena and have the Goal, "The First Match" completed.
This is a link to the Story Outline thread so you can check where you're up to if you haven't finished the 1st Anniversary Goals of the Jousting Arena yet.
Timed portion: Need for Steed - must be complete by the expiry date.
Untimed portion: there are 2 goals after Need for Speed which will come when this goal is complete.
Please note that this has now changed... ALL GOALS ARE TIMED (refer above. Also posts in bugs forum and main thread.)

Update 5-6-15

If you do not want to upgrade your Stable to level 5, you don't need to. You only need to if you want to complete Stallion Selection because for the first task, you need to collect from a level 5 Stable. You don't need to complete these Goals in order to keep your Horse that is already in your Kingdom.

From SpiritWind:

1. You must place your horse before the goal expires and all 3 parts are now timed
2. Extra time has now been given to the goal
* amended 3. If you want the reward for finishing Stallion Selection (1 sugar), you have to collect from a Level 5 stable
4. The ability to craft horses will end when the goal expires
5. If you don't pet your horse 5 times you will only miss out on the goal reward. Your horse can grow up any time
6. If you don't finish raising your horse you only miss out on the goal reward (same as no 5)

Notes:

1. Additional Deed/s will cost 999 gems each (as an option to craft more horses)

*****DESTRIER (black horse) CRAFTED IN THE MAGIC FORGE. *****
*****ROUNCEY (palomino/light coloured horse) CRAFTED IN THE WORKSHOP.*****
*****If you collect from a Level 5 stable (in Goal 2 below, which is not timed) the ability to craft more horses for gems disappears.*****

2. If you need more active neighbours, please post your ID in the ADD ME forum - not here though please! (April link added)
3. All buildings count towards tending buildings count, including glimmer troves, bountiful table and gazebo's - anything that you can collect hearts from.
4. You can receive 20/21 letters of recommendation per day. It's ok to send the request to all of your neighbours in one go, but you'll only get 20/21 back.
5. It takes 5 days to pet the horse from the baby into an adult or skip at 88 gems per day

What does the horse drop?
[Collection time:] once every 7 days. They will drop exactly the same items.

ROUNCEY the palomino:
40 energy, 1 longsword, 1 fur
40 energy, 1 longsword, 1 rat tail

DESTRIER the black horse
40 energy, 1 light armor, 1 fur
40 energy, 1 longsword, 1 creeptooth

REWARDS: 70 coins 3xp 1 Horse Deed

part 1. A Corny Quest
. GIVE Corn x500 - 3minute crop (skip 500g)
. GIVE Strawberries x300 - 1 hour crop (skip150g)
. GIVE Carrots x 100 -1 day crop (skip 300g)
. STORE Quality Horse Feed x410 (skip 820g)
(Feed drops from harvesting Corn, Strawberries, Carrots)
REWARDS 70 coins 3xp 1 Seal of Temperance

could be me, but isn't it a bit twisted when the goal shows 0/500 for corn, that does NOT show how many corn i collected, like 100/500 but that it counts in percentages ?

I'm not a fan either, but you can work it out from the gems that it costs to buy off the quest.

1 corn - 1 gem
2 strawberry - 1 gem
1 carrot - 3 gem (or, of course, the % is the number you collected)
1 horse feed - 2 gem

What are the two quests after "need for steed"? I'm on the resume building second quest and have 57% collecting from buildings, 100% visiting neighbors, and 32% letters of recommendation (need more neighbors. ). I'm hoping to get to the last quest seal of bravery by Tuesday. But, seems like a lot of fighting to get done on that one.

We don't know yet as nobody has received all 3 seals yet. We just know that there will be two more goals (not timed) after that as a CM told us.
