I've wondered, I'm considering crafting these two buildings and I wondered if they crafted anything, did anything, or if they are just decoration?

They are only decor, that's why in the Spell Shop when you press the "decor" tab, the buildings are there, because they are decor.

So used to those tabs not working in Castle Story I just don't use them.

It's a castle in the sky but you need free land to put the decor, you cannot put the decor in top of another building
