Is upgrading habitats actually worth it?

Seems like it costs a whole lot to get a minuscule bump in coins earned. Does it even out eventually?

In the long run, yes. Immediately, no. If you are there to collect more often, it pays off faster than if you are only logging in once a day.

For instance (you will have to adjust the numbers according to the actual figures for each habitat):

Cost to upgrade: 1,000
Coin rate increase per collection: 25
Times to collect in order to recover the 1,000 spent: 40

Basically after that, it's all "profit". (Sorry, I didn't have the exact figures to set an example to right now because my Nook is recharging, someone else might however.)
