I can't speak from experience, but I keep seeing Mother, Winter Games, and Forestfire come up as strong opponents when checking the battle calculator on the DS wiki. Occasionally Cherry Blossom as well, but a bit more rarely.

Won the first round in the new tournament and earned crest 99. I have my first champion! Immediately rushed the crests to the spell shop and started crafting. Elsewhere on the island, his habitat is currently under construction.
