You can get oranges from: the orange tree (which can drop from adventures too), glimmerbat habitat (gem only buy), the fruit trade in the Royal Exchange, Sir. Piggie has been known to drop some too. The fruit trees I would save gems to get. It's hard in the beginning of the game to get fruit unless you buy the trees. This isn't an exhaustive list, but they are the most common ways. @Jasminelu: You can also get the trees from adventures, but they're kinda rare. Search the Ancient Vault and Hunt Roaming Bandits are the best adventures to get them from.

Couple of options, adventures can drop fruit trees, sir piggie drops fruit on occasion, you obviously don't have the glimmerbat which drops fruit (but that's a gem buy too), if you have the royal exchange the fruit trade will give fruit drops too. I'm guessing you're a low level player though given your question, so you might just have to wait it out until you get either enough gems or you get a random drop. I couldn't wait and purchased the orange tree first, you'll get another task soon asking for an even more ridiculous amount of oranges. I still didn't have Sir Pig. So the orange tree became my 2nd important gem purchase. I then went with lemon then apple. The Magic Garden came along as did Sir Pig somewhere in between, if I hadn't purchased the three trees I'd still be on Breakfast of Champions. Let alone the next task requiring all 3. When I got the second task I made that decision. Then of course a lemon tree came back with the knights a few weeks later!
