I've been able to beat a lot of the Ice dragons with super rare Fire hybrids
I haven't had any of the Artic dragons yet but I know what you mean about the other dragons. Even Common dragons are ALOT harder for me to beat than the Diamond hybrids which is what I have had so far. I'm currently battling Poison and it has taken down my Origami. I think I'm going to hold off for a while because I have at least 8 dragons that need to be healed before a Tournament pops up. I won a THIRD combat against blizzard, with Aether (defeated first try). Purple-blue seems definitely working.
I lost few battles against Troll Lv 12, Dawntree,few forest & few fire lost battles...
So far got 11 Gladiator Pearls and now I am stuck.
Just throwing Dragons I breed and trying for luck. It is an Amethyst 12.
Colors not working since my Forest 1 lost a few times.
Will Try Air 1 later.
ONce all dragons healed will use stronger ones.
Okay my Lvl 4 Trickster beat Amethyst 12. BBB.
Funny how it all works.
Beat black swan 12 after losing onyx 9, lotus 10 (2x), troll 6, and forest 1 (2x) with gemstone 10, two bashes.

My lvl 1 fresh breed winter won over lvl12 tropic.
Now when I breed an unwanted dragon (such as this winter), before I sell them I send in battle to exhaust or win. This time, I won.
