Ok this might be a dumb question, but why can't you get a Leo breeding bat/diamond or secret/diamond?

While dragon combos can take colors from one dragon or the other or both, when you are trying to get a single element dragon like Leo, that doesn't seem to work. You need to breed a dragon with black and a dragon with yellow. Not sure why it works that way. Not a dumb question at all!!! Breeding rules can be tricky when it comes to combining colors and splitting.
