On a separate note... I got the first knowledge shard ages ago, but the mission associated with it has never appeared. Is this a glitch? Anyone know a way to get TeamLava to fix this?

Quite a bit has changed, the goals are all integrated now ;
new players have a lot of choices on how they want to play the game.
