Cost of food, different for everyone???!!

I've checked with other players (including my fianc?, whom I live with, so this isn't regional) who are all different levels, playing on different devices, and we all HAVE DIFFERENT PRICING FOR FOOD?!!?? Why??!

ME (level 23):

3000 food for 20 gold
15,000 food for 100 gold
37,500 food for 250 gold

MY GUY (level 21):

1500 food for 20 gold
7500 food for 100 gold
18,750 food for 250 gold

FRIEND (level 21):

10,000 food for 250 gold

Other friends I've asked on ds fall into one of those three pricing brackets regarding food purchases. Please do not say that this is random, or that you'll "roll out" an update for it on Tuesday or Thursday, or that it's the difference between android users and apple users. Teamlava, what is going on?! How can you allow your game to go live with discrepancies like this?

If two girls walk into a department store and want the same pair of shoes does the store charge them differently? Do they both go up to the registers with the shoes and pay at the SAME TIME, but pay DIFFERENT prices, as in, one pays HALF of what the other girl pays?!?? Is this discrimination? Is everyone smiling and happy about it?! No! People go postal over stuff like this. Clearly it must be a mistake AND any business that respects basic moral values would fix the problem immediately and make the purchases equal for both.

Can you PLEASE make this game equal for all?

For whatever reason, TL likes to have different prices in their games and they're not going to change it even though many people have complained about it.

I don't know why you're complaining. Seems like you're getting a good deal to me? I'm level 23 on iPhone and can purchase 800 food for 20 gold.

geez, I'm level 13 but still find the variances annoying.

For 20 gold, I'm offered 400 food
100 gold, 2,000 food
250 gold, 5,000 food

It's completely not worth it. My gold cost on everything is so high I don't image ever using my gold because the value is so non-existent.

In slightly over a year of playing Team Lava's games, I have come to the conclusion that nimishii has it completely correct. I would also add that you should not expect any business sense from them. Try this on for size.

Last summer, I was playing Farm Story when they started rolling out a special bonus item with gem purchases. Now there was a dearth of digital cats available to us, but over the period of a couple of months, the developers rolled out three of them, the tuxedo cat, orange tabby, and Siamese. I love cats and would have gladly bought gems for the chance to have these cats on my farm, but on each occasion, these offers we're not extended to me. Now my wife, who was far more frugal about purchasing gems, received all three of the offers. I, however, received offers every other week, and took advantage of almost none of them. Sheer irony!

I was able to purchase the cats months later, but the lack of response to why Team Lava would employ such a limiting business model spoke loudly that they are going to do what they are going to do, even if it does not make sense. I am afraid it is what it is.

The odd disparities are the main thing that drives me crazy about TL games and what will ultimately make me quit playing them. Why charge some people twice the price for the same item(s)? Why charge others half? Why offer gem sales to some people and never to others? It makes no sense at all. I don't buy the server strain nonsense about the sales, I think it's sheer laziness or lack of know-how on their part that prevents them from giving everybody gem sales and limited time offers.

If they want to charge everybody differently and offer some things to one group and never to the rest, they really shouldn't have made a forum where the different users could chat and discover the disparities that are going on.

well, the good news is that TL has ensured I'll have lots of spending money for vacation this summer. Sadly they've shut down a reliable revenue stream. Hopefully, they didn't invest too much in devising this revenue model.
