    Dragon Tales 8/18/23: Open Seas

(Hey Mods, can you hook this thread up with a sticky)
    Hello Neighbors,

Here are the simplified directions to complete the new Open Seas Dragon Tales event. Not only are the chapters and acts listed, I also put in the supplies needed and how many times the Hydroponic Dragon has to be sent on missions. I hope it helps all of you to get the Shorekeeper Dragon. With no further ado, here's the chapters and I divided them up by levels.

Note: You can level up the Hydroponic, Aqualeaf and Tidehunter Dragons to their required levels early and they'll count. For most players Hydroponic needs to be at level 14, Aqualeaf to level 12 and Tidehunter to level 6.
***If you are below level 80, then look at your level listing to see required levels for your dragons.***

Note: There appears not to be a tournament going on this time so the only way to get through acts dealing with getting Sea Dollars is to actually do it through breeding.

Note: If you're collecting badges for the Offshore Dragon, there seems to be no tournament going on so it'll be a little easier to get them through normal battles.

Note: You can breed Tidehunter Dragon early (Breed red and blue) and it will count when asked in Chapter 6.

Note: I bred Tidehunter on the first try using Playful (pure red) and Lost Love (pure blue, the heart element is disregarded in breeding).

Note: There are two alternate ways to breed Tidehunter. You can A - Breed a pure diamond type with a dragon that has tropic, blue, red as its elements (The only tropic/blue/red hybrid I know of is Kea Dragon that was a tournament dragon in August 2019. Available for 800 essence.) or B - Breed a pure tropic type dragon (Tropic, Turtle, Shell) with a red/blue hybrid dragon such as Lunar Ram, Athletic, etc.

Below is the egg to look for:

I?m not too interested in these dragons, tbh, but I bred Tidehunter, so now there?s really no reason I couldn?t finish.
I got a Bingo goal to breed with a diamond type dragon, so I bred Fire with Mercury and got Tidehunter. My first few attempts with Fire and pure blue types gave me 20 hour Magic fails.

I wonder why there?s no tournament.

The Spin to Win is all messed up. It?s like the old time spinning wheel, but it?s still asking us to gain 150 tickets so we can craft an Orange dragon. I want the Orange dragon.

Also earlier it said I could get 15 trade tickets for 50 Essence. I should have taken advantage of that, but now they fixed it. Throughout the day it kept showing different things you could craft using the wrong materials. Not sure what was going on.

I'm not gonna lie, the only dragon that looked good to me is Tidehunter. The rest I don't feel too good about and I don't like that the rare dragon and ultra rare dragon are essentially the same elements.

I found it very weird that there isn't a tournament either unless S8 calculated that if they had a tourney then a lot of players would have enough Sea Dollars to make more than 1 Seasteed Dragon.

I also see that there's no wheel to spin to lose. How the heck are we supposed to spin for 5 tickets if there's no wheel? I guess the proofreading doesn't happen on Fridays. This is why I've been suggesting the update days get changed from Tuesdays/Fridays to Mondays/Thursdays to give the staff enough time to correct errors.

Hi, you can spin by :
    1. select the "ticket" symbol on the right hand side panel.
    2. You will get a popup. Select "spin" button on the popup.
    3. The wheel will display, but it currently has junks without any ticket :-p You can spin and hope to get something useful, so far I only get coins and apples, not many coins/aples anyway.
    I hope the images work.

Thank you, holytinhlinh! Yes, I?ve been spinning. This is like the old time spin to win. Not bad prizes, but no tickets.

Thank you so much for letting us know. I thought they made one of their typical Friday mistakes, lol.

Oh I spoke too soon about not having mistakes then, lol. I love that they brought back the old spin to win though! I just spun for the first time and got gold! It was so great. Hopefully it's a sign of them bringing back World Events. We need a couple of more events because the Tales and that other one are getting past boring.

Hah, lucky you, got gold. I shouldn't be jealous, you deserve the gold for all your help with the Tales. Much appreciated.

Hopefully it's a sign of them bringing back World Events. We need a couple of more events because the Tales and that other one are getting past boring.
I do not think they intentionally gave us the nice good old wheel with prizes. Looks to me they half set up for Orange dragon but forgot the actual spin to lose wheel and it defaulted to the original spin to win version. So do not get too hopeful for it to stay or for a World Event.

I think you are right. So far, I have just won some coins and 400 apples, but that is a lot better than 5, 10 or even the 40 tickets that I once got. There are 10 or 20 gold bars to win and 2 dragons. I really like the now expired Mindvolt dragon Add to that if you want to spin again, it costs 10 gold not the 20 that android players would have to spend on the newer spin to lose version. I said android players, because IOS players can watch a video with the new version. That is why they can on occasion win. I fully expect that in a couple of weeks, when the next wheel shows up, it will be Spin To Lose not the old Spin To Win that is actually fun and popular
