I am quite curious how this list is determined. I have been pushing to level up quickly so I have had to sacrifice the size of my army and keep it quite small so I can afford to equip them with the best items.

However as I keep getting to higher levels (currently 64) I have noticed that even though I have an army of 76 the only other people it gives me to do battle with have army’s over 100 or even 200. There is no way I can win against numbers like that.

I hardly ever see anyone in the 90’s let alone 80’s anymore. Is this a controlled aspect in the game where the higher level you are the less likely it is to have you go against people with the same army size or is it just that when most people get to this level they have very large armies?

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

I think when they get to that level they have fairly large armies, but I could be wrong

The higher level you get, generally the larger the armies get. While there are still people with smaller armies, there are less and less every level because there are less and less people of each particular level as you level up too. Meaning there are many less people at say, 81 than there are at 35 or 36 for instance

There is a simply way to combat this:

Spend a few days sitting at your current level, start accumulating land (and in turn money) so you can afford to equip say a 200 strong army with the best equipment and spells. All though this may seem like a boring and pointless option - it IS in fact the best one you have.

Hi Guys!

I have a question! I`m on level 32 with 9 army members. It`s never happened before, but today, people with an army of 50, 100 etc..can see and attack me. How come? I was attacked by a guy on level 33 with 127 army members! I don`t have a chance against this rivals!! How this guys could actually see me or attack me? Is that a bug or something?

@ kingesso: Errr how does one do this if they are an aggressive expansionist, I have an income of around 200,000 however my armour has an upkeep of around 194,000 (I cant check right now due to the game being updated). The only way I could make any money would be to sell everything I have and lose about half of there value in the process. Or keep attacking to make more money but the problem with that is I level so quick that I have to spend the money on more weapons faster then the land or I start to lose way to many fights. I have really backed my self into a nasty corner.

@ rolesz: Yes I have the same problem, thus the point of the thread. Based on what others here are saying and what I noticed when I just levelled up to 65 is that if the level does not have enough people that have armies higher then you, it will then list people with lower armies. I think this is a bit of a flawed game design. I think that if there is no people with closer army size to you rather then forcing you to attack people with huge armies or having those people attack you. It should make it available for you to attack people that are close to your level (within say 5 levels) but have army sizes around the same. I think that would make it more balanced. Just my 2 cents.

Flawed game design? No. It is rather simple, you leveled quickly without the income to support it. You need income, the income from property is far greater in the long run than anything you will get from attacking (but wtf do I know, I only turn 2.8 million per turn (still need 5 times that)).

And yes, I have done the same thing when I started out. Ended up selling off everything, ran with 10g upkeep for items needed for quests, bought a ton of property and lost a ton of fights while I waited for income to build. This is not a quick game that you are going to beat in a few weeks, it takes time, and patience, and a little planning for what you want to do.

Have to agree with Siren.

Aggressive leveling will kill you in this (and all the Storm 8 games) because earning income through fighting will never be enough at the higher levels.

There simply are very few players with less than full army size once you are above Level 60. It would not be possible to populate your fight screen with only opponents in that range.

If you want to see truly "unfair" wait till you get to Level 90 or so and get attacked by Level 125 players with max army size

But seriously, sell everything and camp out. If you look at the Leaderboards (http://klboards.gentavgames.com/) under Money Boards -> Most Profitable, you will see that even those of us with over $2 million income are still camping out with (mostly) zero upkeep. We have been doing this since the 7/9 update (over 3 weeks now) because the new equipment is so expensive.

@rolesz
Storm 8 changed the system a few weeks ago. Around Level 30 or so, large armies can see smaller armies ONE LEVEL HIGHER.

What level am I now, 106 I think it is, anyway. I see all the way up to level 200 on my attack screen. Fun stuff. I re geared a little today just for giggles and I still get completely trounced on.

Just for fun I keep thinking about not buying anything for a few weeks and completely gear up, run max upkeep for a few days just for the heck of it. The sad thing is 2.8million upkeep still wont get you maxxed....hehehehe....

So basicly the solution is: raise the size of my army? From 9, to 20 at least? I`m gonna do that and see what happens. I`m not an agressive leveler...I have a very good income. Thanks guys for your advices!

If you're level 32, raising your army from 9 to 20 isn't going to make a hoot of a difference. You'll still get trounced by people with large armies.

I would say that you should max out your army. If you don't like getting beat by people with 150 army members, then you need to get 150 members. Equip them with zero or low upkeep items. Camp. Buy more land until you have an income that can support your army.

To me, what was unfair would be these people with tiny armies who are trying to hide from all the other people playing the game. I'm glad that Storm changed the battle list. Frankly, this morning I have been purposely refreshing my battle list until I find one of these people with miniscule armies. It's great fun to wallop on them with an army that is 20 times larger than theirs.

If you want more army members there are a ton of websites that let you post your army code for free. Even if you go to the app store and look at the kingdoms live reviews page you can find lots of code.

People in general need to stop complaining about being attacked by larger armies. It's not fair in the first place that people can hide out from everyone by keeping a low count. Everyone in the same level group should be placed together. If you can't afford the best weapons for a full army, don't worry. No one can. But a full army with less than perfect items is way stronger and generally requires less upkeep than a small army with the best weapons.
