Player Skill Points vs Pet Skill Points

Anyone have any insight on how player skill points factor into a battle? I have heard from other Storm8 games that they player a big part in determining a battle. What is that value though or any ideas? I also understand that there is a random number generator within each battle that adds another number to the battle. So even if player A has 2 more points over player B he could still lose due to that. Thoughts, insight?

i think skill points play a much larger role in this game then storm8's previous 8 games.

i have attacked players with hundreds less defense than my attack and i will still lose, i have put all of my points into defense, so i only have 1 attack.

all but 1 of my losses came when i attacked other much weaker pet owners.

but i have only lost 1 battle when getting attacked, and that was before i could max out my level cap for pets/skills

edit: at level 14, i just lost a battle where i attacked a guy who had nearly 600 few defense points than my attack points. keeping in mind i have 1 attack skill point.
