So lately, I've been camping until the profitability of the newest income generating building is less than the next one up, and then levelling up very very quickly, once I am sure my defense is high enough to handle whatever comes my way. I do this by a combination of farming and the very first mission (I have only 9 allies to avoid being farmed by someone I cannot deal with,) about 1000 times. Is this useful? I am lvl 32, income is ~9mill.

Well it sounds like you have a good idea with working with farming and the first mission however your income is really low for your level. You may want to consider working a bit more on your income. But yes you have the right idea with farming and missions.

I know my income is low, however it will increase faster if I continue to move. I'm just learning, I'm adding about 1m to my income every day right now, it was 6m last friday.

I think that while you have the right idea on how to level you may be leveling just a bit too fast. You are going to start getting to the point where you are not able to support the units you need when you get closer to 40 and up levels. Others might feel differently then I do but I would probably focus a bit more on building your income up a bit then to power level.

Allow me to clarify- I am just leveling to 35, then staying there. Using one of the many online calculators, I figured out I could defeat the max # of B2s that could attack me in my bracket, and military research labs provide enough income to sustain me some serious $.

Come join me at the first real camping mecca... level 40 and the nuke test facility, you only need around 10 research labs before the ROI becomes better for the nuke.

WEAK....low income for your level and people at level 20 with max alliance can probably farm you. I am 33 and my income after upkeep is 52 million an hour. I have max alliance...so you do the comparison.

Yes but if he doesn't leave links you will not be able to touch him! What is better: Taking ages to build an impenetrable defense and a massive income to support max allies before levelling up, or not leave links, and stealthily level up with sufficient defense and income for your bracket, in order to obtain max ROI efficiency for both defense and income buildings? Debatable, but I go for the Ninja-style.

I'm with Blownapart, but I'll go a step further... I believe it lunacy to have a 52mil/hr income at level 33. The quoted unreg is so far outside of ROI it is absurd, which means it is taking him/her ages longer to build up the money sufficient to to buy and hold max defense. The only reason to have max alliance at 33 is if you are continuously on sanctions, but if you are picking big fights at such a low level with such limited units I have to question your strategy there as well. I believe the OP to be right on track with the most efficient strategy, which is moving up based on ROI/full defense for minimal allies and NO HARD LINKS. He will never have to worry about anyone with max allies attacking him because they will never see him at lvl33.
Even though the satellite network has come out at 60, because of the newer 'disposable' aircraft I am going to break ROI at 40 and slowly build to max alliance in the 40s as I obtain enough defense to sustain max attack from the higher brackets. I have no complaints about my record to date - still over 98% W/L and going strong (I can't wait to get started on my death/loss record - that's where the fun begins, haha!)

to the original poster.....if you want to camp level 35 the real way, then do as i say.
drop all your alliance members but for 3, so you only have 4 in your alliance, drop all of your units that have upkeep. you should have enough in defense from your buildings to withstand any attacks from your 1-4 attack bracket.
if you dont have enough defense in buildings alone, dont do this until you have atleast 2500-5000 defense from your buildings. the max attack from units in this bracket is less than 2500, but you must consider attack points so that is why i say up to 5000 just to be safe.
I use this strategy and im lvl 34, leveling to 35, just under 30k defense from buildings alone, no upkeep, and 77 mil net income. record of 1265-20, last loss i recieved i was level 15 or so, before i started this strategy.

This used to be my way of leveling. Camp at a level foe a very long time, then race to the next camp site. The 6 unit update destroyed that strat. I remember I was at level 40, all my defenses ready for level 60 and above, had 200mil/hr income, savings of 5billion in vault for units, all ready to race to 60 to camp again the boom, that update!
Suddenly my fortress is no longer impenetrable, back to camping mode. Now with disposables, I cautiously level while slowly building defenses and income. Explosive leveling takes too many buildings to build to fill the large gap to defend against 6 units.

I'm the original poster. I made it to 35 and never saw your posts. Looking back, I can see the absurdity of it all. Right now I am farming while building up a massive stockpile of defensive buildings and income generators. Though upkeep on bombers has dropped my income to net 8.2, I make about 10 times that every farming job I do, and by the time I can't farm without leveling, I will have enough income generators to camp satisfactorily. Camping is simply too boring. I can't stand just staying put, so I give myself a little budge. I'm not saying its the best strategy, I'm just saying I enjoy it, and that's the point of the game :)

I never said anything about leaving a HARD LINK. My building defense is over 28k. I stopped playing the game for months, just logged in once in a while to spend the cash on buildings. But that is some boring ass crap. Now, I am more involved, actually, leveling faster than I want because I would like to spend more on buildings. But I agree with the NINJA-STYLE, and that's what I do. I never, ever leave any link on anyone...not even allies....the ones that konws me will automatically delete my post....eliminate all traces. I mess with peoples head...I pissed sooo many higher levels that they eventually leave comments on my wall calling for truce...LOL...FOOLS!!! Now they become a part of me, for as long as my account still active!!!! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I think it is lame to not have max alliance...because you are banking that no one will attack you with higher alliance because they can't see you in the battle page....but things happen and your name could pop up in the sanction page because you farmed too much on certain individual. Once on sanction page, you are on your own....ever have a group of guys waiting for you on the sanction page and then they F*ing destroyed your azz? You could be stealthy, but you can't stay under the radar forever and when i get sanction...I prefer to pick up the battles win rather than losses because some punk lvl 23 got more attacking power because of their max alliances. Basically, you can still be under the radar with max alliances....and you guys are BORING...totally making this game pointless and no suspense or thrill. ...
