Nothing on the TL Blog (http://blog.teamlava.com/) about this island, and it hasn't been added to the JM Regions Master thread (http://forums.storm8.com/showthread.php?51491-Jewel-Mania-Regions-Master-Thread-(Updated-8-1-13)&p=727413&viewfull=1#post727413) yet, either. Level 409: Dig 8 meters in 45 moves (4JC.) This level his a lot going on: windows, restricted jewels, super dirt, black jewels, lock and chain areas, and a gift. There are 2 L&C areas, each with 2 locks. The 1st has 2 90-count locks, with purple & blue target colors. The 2nd area has a 170-ct. green lock & a 210-ct. aqua lock. The colors seem to be the same each round. The gift is a key boost, which unlocks one of the L&C (perfect for the largest-count aqua lock, or you could use it if you had trouble with one of the other colors, perhaps...)

With only 4 colors in play, it's easy to make special jewels...and so much fun. It took me 3 or 4 attempts to pass this, and I enjoyed every one. I used several diamond + bomb combos towards the beginning of my passing round...to whittle away at the target color jewels (and since there was no s.d. exposed to clear.) Once there was super dirt to consider, I used lots of diamond + blaster and blaster + bombs. Still, I needed every single move to pass this. The last move took me over the goal. Here's a screenshot of the moment (sorry, I just love Beandog dressed up for Halloween!):

Level 410: glass in 2:45 (5JC.) This one's crazy--lots going on! Snakes, wooden walls, crates, windows, lock and chain areas, and a gift. There are 3 L&C areas, all with snakes in them. Then there's glass underneath...so you have to unlock the L&C, **** the snakes, then break the glass. The snake heads all have little windows or cutouts around them, which makes it difficult or (in some cases) impossible to make a match around the head. The gift is an anti-venom boost--to remove a snake head. Very helpful, but you only get one. Probably best to reserve that for the upper-right corner snake, as that lock has the highest count (so usually last to open.) The 3 L&C's are 90-count in the upper right, 60-ct. in the lower right, and 30-ct. in the lower left. The colors are different for each, and change from round to round.

This is a difficult level, so my 5, 6 attempts haven't gotten me anywhere. I haven't even opened the last L&C yet, so I need to work on a strategy other than just move fast and make special jewels/combos. I've been trying to keep my target colors in mind, but I'm mostly just trying to **** snakes and clear massive amounts of jewels. It seems like there's too much to do in the allotted time. Ugh, I wish this didn't have the stress of a timer. But anyway...hopefully practice will improve things! ;)

I've been getting behind on my posting again (and then forgot I was so behind--really losing it, lol!) :confused:
To wrap 410 up, at least...I passed it after another day of attempts...guess it took me 2 days (?) to pass it. Such a difficult level, but at least I could tell I was improving a little more each time I played. I got to where I could get the L&C's open, and then finally I got to where I could **** most of the snakes. One round, I cleared all the snakes and had just a few glass left. I was so tempted to buy more time, but I quickly "x'd out" of there. I finally got that lucky round though--couldn't believe it! Lots of blaster + bombs and diamonds (and one diamond + blaster near the end.) Used the free anti-venom boost on one of the upper right snakes, and just kept finding good matches in the glass areas. Only got one star, but I won't be improving on that unless they add some time to the level. It's way too stressful (imho,) though I think this level has a cool design. It's only the timer I dislike, lol! ;)

Now I'm on the last level of Naval Narwhal island: 414. I'll be posting the other levels soon, just been a little busy lately. But this last level is timed fire...with doom jewels (ugh, and super UGH!!!) The timer is really short at only 1 minute (1:00,) although I only make it through that 50% of the time (a doom jewel gets me!) :( I don't feel like I'm making any progress on this one, either. I may have reached the truly impossible level!

Level 411: 15 fire in 35 moves (5JC.) restricted jewels, crates, window/cutouts. gift (fire extinguisher) lock and chain areas--3 30-count locks and 1 45-count. The 30-ct. locks have fire inside them, so they have to be unlocked to extinguish the fire.

These screenshots show the last L&C (45-ct. lock) has the gift inside, so you don't necessarily have to unlock it to pass the level. That free fire extinguisher boost can be quite helpful though... ;)

Level 412: 45 glass in 30 moves (4JC.) There are lots of cutouts in this board, creating difficult corners and hard-to-reach areas. All the lock and chain are in the same area, with 3 locks. One large area has 2 different color 18-count locks...it has black jewels inside. There's a 30-count lock right above it, which has a gift inside (a free glass-breaking boost.) The entire board has glass underneath, so you have to unlock all the L&C's.

You need lots of row blasters to clear all the black jewels, but it's tough getting them. That's bcuz the bottom area is only 3 tall, so you have to create them in the upper area or off to the side, then get them to drop without detonating. It's hard to do, since only 4 colors in play means everything wants to activate! ;) Blaster + bomb combos are excellent for clearing the black jewels (and glass, of course.) I finally passed this with a diamond + blaster (used another diamond prior to that, taking out a random color.) Then used a blaster + bomb right near the end that took out all but one glass. I had a match in just the right place, so I didn't even have to use my free glass-breaking boost. Only had one move left over--this one's very tight on the moves. A fun challenge!

Level 413: Dig 10 meters in 40 moves (4JC.) Restricted jewels, ice/white blocks, super dirt, windows/cutouts, There's a lock and chain area inside a window, with super dirt inside. You have to unlock 2 90-count locks and then blast the super dirt. Gifts are an auto-row blaster boost and TNT/special jewel activator boost.

The big window area with L&C and super dirt inside is very tricky. You're going to need some luck in getting the right combos. And once you clear that & scroll to the next area, there's very little room to create special jewels. So if you can, before you scroll, try to bring some specials with you. You need them to get through super dirt & ice (though I suppose "perfect" matches would get you through the ice, too.) Chances are, you'll be quite low on moves by then. Don't forget about your activator boost. That can really help if you get a blaster or bomb in the right place (and saves a move/moves, too.) On the round I passed, I made it through the ice for the first time, and was almost out of moves. I used the yellow blaster in this screenshot to blast underneath the last s.d. block to sink beneath the goal line (was so happy I had to get a shot, lol.) ;)

Yay! This was a fun and challenging level. Only one star, so I'll be back to better that...

Level 414: 9 fire in 1:00 (5JC.) This level has crates, windows, and doom jewels...and "surprise" doom jewels that drop in during the level (I think they all have a :25 timer.) There are some lock and chain areas, the largest one with 4 locks (different colors, with 30-count.) There's fire and snakes inside. There's another L&C with a 45-ct. lock...I think that one has a gift inside. I can't remember now, but I think it's a fire extinguisher.

I can't remember how I beat this one, either, but I know it took me awhile. I basically banged away at the crates and tried to make special jewels and combos. I was stuck on this one (and very unhappy, since all my un-favorites were represented--timed level, fire level, doom jewel level!)

I'm actually on level 425 right now, on Terrace Town (http://forums.storm8.com/showthread.php?60140-Terrace-Town-Levels-421-426-(Region-71)) island. I'm trying to catch up on posting these screenshots and info before I forget everything (it doesn't take long, lol.) I've still got the next island's levels (Serpent Temple (http://forums.storm8.com/showthread.php?60138-Serpent-Temple-Levels-415-420-(Region-70))) to do before that. Yep, I'm really behind...oops!

Updates:

Level 409: Now has 55 moves. 10 have been added.

Level 410: 3:30 now. Added 45 seconds. I found the bottom left and top right snakes hardest to clear. This level took me a few tries and I ended up beating it on a round that I had 3 or 4 diamonds which made clearing snakes so much easier!

Level 411: Has 35 moves now. Added 10. This level was really hard to start and keep the fire from spreading. I kept refreshing trying to find a match next to the fire, but it never came. Eventually I just had to deal with it.

Level 412: 35 moves. +5.

Level 413: 50 moves. +10. Special jewels definitely help! The bottom is really tight for making them though.

Level 414: Now 1:10. Added 10 seconds. I got through this one of my first try really lucking out with a horizontal blaster falling to the bottom and clearing all the fire without ****ing the snake.

Overall I found this level really fun. Somehow I blitzed through it for the most part, but I might be back to get better scores in the future.
