I think the turn based (or move based) gems need to be tweaked a bit to allow the whole turn to complete before blowing up.
I had a doom gem with one move left on it. Instead of directly moving the gem to match it up I chose to move some other matching gems between it. That way I could get more points toward my score, and the resulting fall of gems would match up the doom gem to its correspondong colors and get rid of that as well. The moment i matched up the blues the game considered the doom gem to be out of turns as it hadn't matched up yet due to the half of a second it would take to fall and matchup with its fellow purples.
It would be nice if all of the gems would finish falling and the whole turn could complete before the doom gems end the game in a situation like that.
