Why are we even playing this "game"? It's not really very entertaining. Not all that interactive. Race to level 200 for what reason? Ask any person on the street and they don't know what Kingdoms Live is. I don't know. I feel lame.

Well hello the game is way awesome... And it creates so much drama in game and on forum that it's pure entertainment. :)

Does this have a purpose? Some people actually like strategy games, and if you don't like it, you can always quit for a month, and come back with tons of money.

Oh jeez lets not start on that. LOL The question is why. The answer is simple... just because we can. :)

It's a game with no ends really. Saying you're #1 in Kingdoms Live is retarded. Saying you're #1 in like Halo 3 is a bit more interesting.

Everyone feels differently. It's a different feeling of accomplishment Halo 3 (ick lol) and doing well in a game/app such as the Storm8 ones. In the KL world playing is pretty awesome (doing well and figuring out a great strategy feels great) - but yeah outside the world of KL many wouldn't probably care.

Well...I get what you're saying, but strategy to KL is very, very limited.

It sure the heck is. LOL

It's a little more low key then playing something like Halo (ick again lol). And for sure more time consuming. BUT on the other hand you can let the apps go for a couple months, come back to them and still be ahead. You can't do that with Halo because you actually have to be playing it.

These apps should be the stress free (I'd say drama free but I think these apps have more drama from players then any other lol) strategy games. Just something nice to be able to play and connect with people about. I'm assuming you've made some contacts from in game/on the forum. Maybe even have new Halo buddies? It's just a shared common interest with other people you know?

So why do you play Halo or any other games?

I think Kingdoms is entirely what you make of it.

The people on here are different from the other games. This game pulls in the more traditional gamers, meaning those who are interested in the role playing aspect of it. Lets face it, the game play sucks. I only play for the social aspect. I've made lots of friends all over the world. While I don't know anything about these people in real life, I like them as they present themselves. Now not everyone is in to this sort of game play, but it's amazing how many people are.

This is just my opinion of course. I understand that most people aren't as nerdy as me. But this is the only storm8 game I've found like this. It draws a largely different crowd, and is the only one I've stuck with, but I'm hooked.

I see it as another game that I can bust out when I'm waiting for something, but have to be alert. Being borderline interactive is perfect for wasting a few minutes while being able to stop at any time.

Troll question or what ? Are you just trying to start a arguement?

We play the game cause we like it doesnt matter what others think, simple as that.

first post.

Certain games interest certain people. Some people NEED flashiness in games to hold their attention span. Some people don't care for all that unnecessary stuff and will enjoy a game simply because it is fun for them to play.

And with all games, there is no actual "reason" to play other than the reward you get from playing the game.

It also seems like you might care a bit too much about what people might think of you because of what you like to do.

Who cares?? Enjoy life, do what you like to do. Saying you're #1 in any game sounds lame to me to be honest, but hey, that's just my opinion :P Not gonna stop me from playing though.

If you dont like it DONT PLAY !!
As for being # 1 in a game that allows people to purchase power there's no point in bragging. I enjoy the game as a competition..just to see how far i can get with out money. If i can contend against guys who spend hundreds of dollars then i know Ive done a decent job strategically to sort of keep up.

Plus the people who take it to seriously really make it worth while. Personally the game hasn't changed since it came out but the ideas such as clans, camping , riding bounty and of course the leaderboards have made this a pretty fun game. Interacting with the people who play it on the boards is just as fun as the game.

This games addicting and hopefully they will make a few changes with weapon additions and maybe some game play.

I'm not sure why I play any storm8 game, it's the sitback relax style maybe, it's not exactly playing some fast paced shooter or the like, but you know for an iPod touch game it's fun, Its an MMO too, which in my case I like cause not counting this I play three MMO's all of them with one guy who I've never met in real life as he lives in Ireland but we are best friends and always stick in whatever game we play, be it EVE, WoW or Aion, it's the social aspect I guess, and yeah sometimes I find myself sitting in bed at 2am playing this while asking myself why I'm not trying to fully gear myself before icecrown citadel is released or why I'm not trying to write up a strategy for Aion but honestly, I don't know, this is just an addictive game...

Wow. This thread wasn't a rant or open to flaming. You guys need to chill the ***** out a little. It was supposed to be a rather philosophical question on why you believe video games in general really have any significance correlating with real life. I didn't say I didn't like this game, I wouldn't be playing it if I didn't.

If you dont like it DONT PLAY !!

I don't give a crap what people think of me. I'm still into Digimon and I'm in college, who the hell cares?

You have like, 6 posts, you're trying to call me a troll? This was in no way supposed to be an argument. I was just seeing what people thought, the "tones" weren't necessary from a few of you. This is why I don't bother with these forums anymore.

Wow this thread did take a very interesting turn. I thought it was pretty clear what the thread was about.

So lets take it back to the point. Why?

To escape from reality.

This reminds me of threads I would see when I played WoW. Every once in a while, someone would have an epiphany and realize that there's no point to playing a video game. Then they would feel the need to post about their newfound wisdom and try to tell people that they're wasting their time.

What is the point of any video game? What is the point of watching TV, movies, sports, going to a party, etc? Are you going to get a great job or girlfriend because you play video games? Probably not.

Think about it too much and you will realize that there's not really a point to "wasting your time" playing any video games, but yet we still do it.
