View Full Version : Did Update make Zombies stronger than Vampires?

I think the recent Zombies/Vampires update really unbalanced the game in Zombies' favor.

1. New defensive traps/slaves favor zombies. They now have +5 and +50 defensive traps vs. +1 and +15 defensive slaves for vampires. More importantly, vampire defensive slaves have an upkeep while zombies do not. This is a glaring imbalance right now. Zombies can amass as many defensive traps as they want while vampires must suffer high upkeep costs when adding defensive slaves.

2. New abilities favor attack over defense. This makes sense because of the new defensive slaves/traps, but when considering the heavy upkeep costs of vampire defensive slaves, this again favors zombies.

3. New income traps for zombies but no new income slaves for vampires. At higher levels, vampires will have to earn very low ROI to upkeep their new expensive abilities while zombies have new traps to help accommodate these costs.

On a side note, there are many levels where the difference between a maxed-out vampire and zombie are glaring.

For instance, when a maxed zombie attacks a maxed vampire, zombies overpower vampires in many levels.
Level 15: Zombie overpowers by 8 points
Level 30: Zombie overpowers by 6 points
Level 40: Zombie overpowers by 20 points
Level 65: Zombie overpowers by 45 points
Level 100: Zombie overpowers by 20 points

When a maxed vampire attacks a maxed zombie, the vampire STILL loses in most of the above levels, even WITHOUT zombie defensive traps.
Level 15: Zombie wins by 12 points
Level 30: Zombie wins by 16 points
Level 40: Zombie wins by 29 points
Level 65: Vampire wins by 5 points*
Level 100: Vampire wins by 16 points**

*Note that for level 65, zombies only need 1 Graveyard Trap for every horde member to offset any vampire attack advantage.
**Note that for level 100, zombies only need 1 Solarium Trap for every 3 horde members to offset any vampire attack advantage.

Now, there are levels where a maxed vampire attacking a maxed zombie will always win based on abilities. BUT, zombies can buy defensive traps with no upkeep. Defensive vamp slaves have heavy upkeep costs. Buying enough defensive slaves to protect from zombies is not a viable option for vampires, whereas zombies can cost-effectively buy traps to protect from vampires.

What does everyone else think of the new update? I hope Storm8 hears from those of us that think this unbalances the vampires/zombies games.

Even worse, the vampire slave with +15 defense has a higher upkeep cost per defense point than the +1 slave, making it more confusing to decide which defense slave to buy. You have to weigh ongoing upkeep cost vs. upfront cost.

C'mon, at least make them the same upkeep per point of defense.

Agree. Maybe storm think that zombies and vampires should be more firendly and peaceful with each other. And when they want to attack, just attack their own fellows.:D

You answered your own question, the updates favor the braindead. I really dislike the upkeep. And to be completly honoust, why not get rid of the defensive traps. just make it about the abbilities and hordes/clans.

I agree with everythings exept:

The zombie were really under the vampire in slaves/traps, now they should be equal or so.
But they should have added a zombie traps between level 9 and 13, because actually, a level 10 vampire will have 6 money slave, while a zombie will need to be level 20 to have 6 different money traps.

I reseted both my vampire and zombie at same time, they followed the exact same way of evolution, and my zombie, which were equal at start, have become really behind now. (they are both level 9 right now)

But all you said about the defensive traps is sadly true..

At the end of the day, Zombies made out simply because they now have more properties or "traps" than vampire "slaves". The ROI advantage will allow Zombies to out income Vampires in the long run.

My experience is that traps on both side are still being tweaked. At Level 100+ I can still beat Zombies with 500+ traps. The numbers do not make sense point wise but that is the way it works.

yea wtf, why zombies so mucn more overpowered... >_> i tried both versions, but the zoombies beat vampire easy, i would like it to be equal

I have a personal war between a zombie recently. And we are between lvl 20-21 and both have 4 clans and max equipped them.
In addition, I have build 50 Grave Diggers and 9 Fresh Hungry Beasts, but he/she can still defeat me easily.

Maybe the zombie has put all his skill points on his/her attack.
But, he/she needn't pay anything for his/her defense trap!
While I am paying 115000 bloods for my defense slaves' unkeep, and still lose to a full equipped zombie with only 4 clans.

I am thinking leaving this game if storm8 insist on unchanging the balance setting.:confused:

What is your defense skill?

But yes, i agree this is unbalanced, we got defense slaves that protect 5 time less, while requiring an unkeep.

4 clan members? Getting extra clan members will help you better than traps dude, if you are lvl 20 I would suggest maxing your clan out to 100 if you can afford the abilities upkeep, at the higher levels abilities far ourank the protection you get from traps
