Yes i agree with you, and we've also had threads about this, so you should've posted there.

I think you should be able to search through your alliance list, but not just in general search for somebody.

As much as I like to farm, I doubt that those I am farming want to be found easily.

I think there should be two search functions. An ally search, and a general search.

Implementing a general search function would be a game killer. Or at least it would fundamentally change the game dynamic, as it is, likely in a negative way.

Looking at this board, people complain a lot. But, the two things that people complain about the most are: (1) being "farmed" by the farmers; and (2) dealing with the sanctions parties driven by the "farmees." Maybe a distant third is complaints about spam/profanity/harassment in posts.

Adding a general search feature significantly contributes to all of these. Let's say....

I find myself a nice juicy tomato can (my term for cash machine opponent to farm)? Just search for him. And hit him all day long. Heck, all I need to do is keep a short list of ATM's, and I'll hit them in order, every day, to get my cash as those people blip over 27 in health (or build a defense/bank their money and I move on). He can't defend by knowing not to comment. All he can do is wait for a level gap. And wait.

I'm an impetuous teenager with a fancy alliance, an over-sized sense of importance and some sanctions bucks to burn? I just wait for someone to, gasp, attack one of my friends more than once and not lick my boots afterward. Then, I sanction him, forever. I don't need a link. I don't need to coordinate keeping him on the sanctions board. He has no defense. Me and my adolescent buddies just sanction him on the hour for months. Yippee.

In other words, as it stands, there are measures on can take to stop the bad stuff. Keep quiet, among other things. A general search just breaks down that "no link" defense, and makes it a free-for-all.

I guess, on the other hand, it's war and all. But this seems to give the bad guys too much without much upside.
