View Full Version : Thinking about cutting my crew temporarily

I leveled up too quick and am now trying to build my income so that I can support racing competitively at the higher levels. I'm at level 19 and been sitting here for a few days and its slow going on the income. I have a crew of 21. Yesterday I sold off most of my higher upkeep cars and bought Mini Coopers to replace them. I also got rid of a few of my higher upkeep speed oriented parts too, but kept everything defensively. The result is I'm now getting beat a lot more on defensive only races... so I have to really keep an eye on the clock and the income and get it banked.
My question is this... is there any negative consequence for me to cut my crew back to say 9 for the time being? I am hoping to build my income so that by the time I get to level 25 I am good to go to fully crew up with the right equipment to be competitive. I am shooting for enough income that my upkeep would be around 15%.... then I can get back to having fun building and racing instead of being broke all the time. When I cut someone from my crew, are they notified? I'm worried about retaliation. I full intend to add them back to my crew in a couple of weeks, but just want to scale back for now so that I can have the right equipment to win my defensive races and still build income rapidly.
Thoughts?

I have considered crew cutbacks before.. but have never done it.. but I was considering a much larger cutback.
I would say it would not be difficult to get 10 people back to join you, so if you want to try it out, I would say go for it.

I agree, but I think most of my crew members are way higher levels than me. I would hate for them to get something saying I cut them from my crew, and then all of a sudden they are attacking me constantly because of it. On the other hand, if me cutting them just caused my name to drop from their crew list silently, they'd probably never even know that it happened.

I decided to go ahead and cut it back to 9. I figured if there were any negative effects, that they would be short lived. I have a much stronger defensive position at 9, and I can build my income a lot faster this way to get to where I can support the growth properly.

Cut my crew from 90 to 25, just so I can build income, seems to been doing well. outfitting all crew with minis.

I'm going the Mini route too, and will beef up on the defensive parts for now. When I started this a few days ago my net income was about $400 from $4000 gross. Now I'm up to about $9000 net from $11400 gross. I know these are peanuts numbers, but I got to level 19 quickly and ended up in this state. To be fully crewed at around level 25, I figure it takes about $2M gross to be positioned well to keep growing (and winning). I'll just sit here for a while and then slowly start moving in that direction once I have my upkeep down to about 15%. I wish it was this easy to boost income in real life! ;)

Don't worry. There is no notification that someone is dropped from your crew ;)

I'm sure you don't need 2M to compete at level 25. I'm running 15% upkeep at 2.8M gross at level 68 and winning every race (I lost one in the last few days to a level 189). I would say about 1M or even less is plenty for level 25.

ItsMartini... thanks for the advice... I was probably stretching it a bit. I'm very impatient anyways so I'm sure I'll be cheating pretty quickly. I just want to get my upkeep down to about 15%, then I'll start growing and expanding as I increase the income. I'm at about 20% now. I actually started playing some of the other games too and am just working on income now so that at some point if I decide to actually play them more then I'll have this initial income phase out of the way. It sure seems World War is much easier to get the income up than the rest of them.
